Definitely something not quite right when you move between different zoom levels - the crosshairs should stay over the same point in the image when you change zoom and they don't. Thanks for the report.

Re: Should I use multiple SharpCaps to control multiple cameras simultaneously?
Hi,
yes, there is no problem with running more than one copy of SharpCap at the same time.
If you want to use two high speed cameras then you will need a fast, multi core CPU. If you want to use two high resolution cameras then you will need plenty of memory.
cheers,
Robin

Re: AVI Compression
Hi, SharpCap never compresses an AVI itself, but if your camera produces compressed data (MJPG, YUY2, etc) it will pass that straight through to the saved file. What you are seeing is most likely not compression but just a side effect of the fact that AVI files are (unfortunately) vastly flexible an...

Re: SharpCaps new annual license fee.?
You seem very anti an annual charge which is fair enough. On the other hand the advantage of annual pricing is it lets the annual price be much lower than it would be for a permanent license - the typical ratio is 3:1 or more. You will still be able to use new versions of SharpCap without paying for...

Re: Sharpcap images with ASi1600
Things that jump out after a quick skim through * Using RGB24 mode - consider using RAW16 for this sort of target (but this uses more memory - test with a short stack and then save to check you don't run out of memory). The dynamic range of M42 is enormous and using the higher bit depth mode will he...

Re: Display Current RA & Dec
I've thought of doing this more from a diagnosing problems when things go wrong point of view than for the problem you have. A couple of suggestions for your though 1) If you connect SharpCap to your ASCOM mount then SharpCap shows your RA/Dec from the mount in it's mount control on the right hand s...

Re: Adjust White Levels
Ah, interesting - my normal approach is to bring the gamma slider on the left hand side downwards, which stretches the shadow levels much more than the highlights, which then means that adjusting the white level is something I rarely need to do. Would that approach work for you? If not, I will try t...

Alignment is based on finding patterns of stars in the image, so it doesn't work for non-astro images. If you want to stack without aligning, untick the 'Align Frames' checkbox. If you are trying to and can see stars on the screen but it still isn't working, go to the 'Alignment' tab and adjust some...

Re: Check Device File
I have a 'cheapo' EasyCap clone (as shown on this page - https://visser.io/2015/06/easycap-drivers-for-windows-8-1/ ) that shows up as an SMI Grabber device in windows. This currently works fine for me with Windows 10 and SharpCap 2.10 (I have just attached it to an old DV camcorder to verify that I...

Re: Revolution Imager R2 settings
Hi Larry, my favourite frame grabber is the genuine ezcap (http://www.ezcap.tv/) - I have one although I seem to have mislaid it at the moment and it is known to work nicely with SharpCap. What I don't know is - does it work with the imager you are using... Might be worth a web search to see if you ...
