Re: SharpCap Plate Solving - good/bad news
Thank you BW. I checked that Starry Nights and my laptop showed the same time. I forgot to check the mount's time. It would be an obvious source of error. What hurts my ego is that I wondered about a difference in timing but never thought of the mount. As for Epoch, I'm lost! It will be clear tonigh...

SharpCap Plate Solving - good/bad news
Since my initial GoTo with my iOptron CEM25P mount is not accurate, I wanted to use the plate solving function in v3.2. I set up All Star Plate Solving and SC was able to invoke it. The good news is that SC reported that ASPS had indeed plate solved my location and listed the RA/DEC coordinates. I w...

Re: Sharpcap doesn't like USB3 hub
Thx Dave. I used the ZWO cable on the IMX174 and the IMX174 cable to the laptop. Both cables have worked without a problem for many months. I stopped using the Startech cable because it had not been proven to work. Since AltairCapture didn't work with the IMX174 when passing through the hub when pow...

Re: Sharpcap doesn't like USB3 hub
I switched to my ASI1600MM Pro and it worked flawlessly with the Startech ST4300U3C3. That narrows the problem down to something specific to the Altair Hypercam IMX174. I believe the problem is the Altair driver. I upgraded my Altair software to the latest version with no improvement. I shall raise ...

Re: Sharpcap doesn't like USB3 hub
The one that never worked was made by Insignia, not the Startech.

Sharpcap doesn't like USB3 hub
I have two powered USB3 hubs. One is a piece of crap so I bought a Startech ST4300U3C3 powered hub. Works fine with my 5 external USB3 HDs. But when I connected my Altair Hypercam IMX174, SC reported there was a problem as did AltairCap and PHD2. However, if I disconnected the USB3 hub's power, all ...

Re: Master Dark using SC Capture Darks problem
I know I process my lights as 32bit XISF in Pixinsight. The lights/darks/flats are captured using Sharpcap with 16 bit option. I wasn't aware of a setting "saving as 10/12/14".
I'll go look for it.

Re: Master Dark using SC Capture Darks problem
Sorry. I should have mentioned ASI1600MM Pro, Windows 10. There is no log that I am aware of. Since SC didn't crash, it likely wouldn't be helpful anyway.

Master Dark using SC Capture Darks problem
Master Darks created via SharpCap v3.1 and 3.2 beta cause the calibration routines in Pixinsight and Images Plus to basically wipe out the lights. If I capture individual frames and then combine them to create a master dark in PIS it works as expected. My best guess is the PIS and IP+ are not interp...
