Re: Circular-ish background with live stacking
I am using the same camera and my settings are considered within the normal range: Gain: 350; Temp -10 (Power 89); Exposure 60s. So, I don't think they are the problem.

Re: Circular-ish background with live stacking
I am also using the ZWO ASI294MC Pro and I also get this pattern as well in PI when I perform the auto-stretch. I managed to get rid of the circles when continuing the post-processing procedures and the final image will come out fine (see M27 attached) but a few points here: 1- I am new at using PI ...

Thanks, Dave
That sounds like option 1 in my original post. And agree, image does validate the technique. Very nice.

Deep Sky Image Stacking: What approach is best?
Hi All Given the next 2 weeks of anticipated clouds, I wanted to ask a question about stacking. I've done 60s live stacks for 1 hour and then saved the stack as unstretched, exported it into PI for some post-processing and it seemed to work well. I've read a few posts here about other ways to save i...

Re: Messier 27: A SharpCap-PixInsight Combination
I heard that too but it sounds like full frame cams so might be very expensive. Also heard they might not come out until end of the year or early next year but those are just rumors I am hearing. The ASI071 should give you a really wide FOV, more than the ASI294. Let me know how you make it. BR, Bruce

Re: Messier 27: A SharpCap-PixInsight Combination
Hi Nick Thank you. I really am liking it as I have now used it on multiple nights on several DSOs and it really enhances them in my Bortle 5/6 LP area during the humid summer Orlando nights. If you are in an LP area like mine, I would seriously consider it. I've only tried it on my ASI385MC and ASI2...

Re: SharpCap & PixInsight stacking
Hi Robin
One more questions so I am clear. When I want to export the stack to use in PI, I choose the "save with adjustment" option. Should it be as a .png or ,fit or ,tiff file?

Re: Delete the last view only while live stacking
Thanks, Robin. Well, I think an undo button would still be very helpful to have. I will use the sigma clipping feature and play with the values. Perhaps that is the answer to help deal with this issue. The good part is that this is a relatively rare event but not good especially if you have a lot of...
