Re: NEQ6 Ascom connection

That's not supposed to happen for the NEQ6 Eqmod driver - that one is supposed to work nicely (it's what I use!). Can I check a couple of things? What version of EQMOD do you have installed? Are you trying to use the EQMOD ASCOM driver via an ASCOM hub like POTH? I'm going to test this one myself a ...

Re: Error during preview

Thanks Ray for the updates. Avast is looking interesting as a possible common factor. Even if scanning is turned off, AntiVirus tends to worm its way into every program running on a PC, so it could be somehow interfering with webcam functionality. It might be an interesting experiment to completely ...

Re: Histogram Slider Buttons

Just to check, you are talking about the live stack histogram sliders, yes?

Re: Plate Solving

Hi Roel, it is possible to close the camera by re-selecting it from the menu while it is active - see http://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/2.9/#Available%20Cameras . Maybe this is not the most obvious way of doing it :) Many ASCOM mounts do allow multiple connection (eg EQMOD), others can sometimes be used vi...

Re: Error during preview

I'm still trying to get some sort of clear picture of what is going on here. It seems that my failures with Windows Creators update are most likely down to testing in a VMWare virtual machine, as Dave (turfpit) has tested and everything seems to work fine. Please continue to post with any useful inf...

Re: Hello.

Hi Neil, I have seen what I think is your post on Facebook with the glow in the corners of the frame at longer exposures. This is amp glow and it's a common feature of the Sony sensor (174, 178, 290, 224 etc) cameras. Whether it really comes from an amplifier in the way that amp glow on CCD chips di...

Re: QHY minicam5s-c only displays mono

I have a fix for this from QHY and will get it into the next build of 3.0 that goes out - probably over the weekend sometime.

cheers,

Re: Dithering

I'll keep that in mind - certainly once there is a sequence builder it shouldn't be too hard to add new functions to it. I guess though that for dithering to be needed you have to be guiding (if you're unguided then the drift will probably dither for you). If you just send a move command to the moun...

Re: PG Flea FL3 U3 32S2M-CS not being recognised by Ver 3.0

Hi Sean, hopefully my response to you over at SGL will be helpful - just to put the info here too for future reference... For PGR cameras you need to install * FlyCapture from Point Grey * The normal SharpCap installer * The SharpCap Prerequisite installer (see the SharpCap download page). Then I'd ...

Re: Orion Starshoot AutoGuider

Hi Greg, all good suggestions - I've also sometimes had success with the use of a hub where a device fails without it (and the other way round too). I think that using a camera via an ASCOM hub is not going to work with SharpCap as SharpCap runs the camera all the time like a video camera, so it is ...
