Re: Plate Solve in Sequence Loop
Hi, The Capture Stop and Capture Start steps are not needed, and may cause issues. Those steps are to start/stop saving images to individual files (like the 'Start Capture' button on the toolbar), and should not be used in conjunction with live stacking or plate solving (even when the camera is in s...

Re: Imaging sequence halts with error message
Hi, thanks for the log. From it I can tell that the failure to capture the frame happened at the camera level - At the end of the 64s exposure, the ZWO SDK just gave an 'ExpFailed' error code. Unfortunately all that means is 'that didn't work' - we don't get any information from the ZWO software abo...

Re: Imaging sequence halts with error message
Hi, do you think you could share the full SharpCap log from one of the sessions where the camera failed in the way you describe? Hopefully it will contains some additional info on exactly what went wrong and why the capture failed. The logs will have been saved in the SharpCap log folder, which you ...

Re: Plate Solve in Sequence Loop
Hi, well, the theory is that when SharpCap sends the slew command to the mount ASCOM driver, it should wait until the slew is complete before allowing SharpCap to continue. However, it wouldn't suprise me at all if some ASCOM drivers just start the movement off and let SharpCap carry on straight awa...
Re: ASI2400MC
Hi John, make sure you are using the 64 bit version of SharpCap (and Windows!). In general you should be OK, but some things will use a lot of memory and may be very slow - in particular * Satellite trail removal * Live stack enhancement options - noise reduction and sharpening tools If you run into...

Re: Can I get a list of objects identified in field with annotate?
Hi, believe it or not it can be done... Click in the list of targets in view Press CTRL+A to select all of them Press CTRL+C to copy to clipboard Paste the text now on the clipboard into wherever you want the details. Doing this with the SharpCap sample image (deep sky camera) gives NGC1980 Lower Sw...

Re: Gradient Removal Improvement
Hi Cey,
yes, please do send me some files to look at. If I have enough samples then surely I can come up with something that manages to work for most of them!
cheers,
Robin

Hi Don,
when you get the chance, can you try using the latest SharpCap 4.1 beta version - just in case this is something that is fixed in the latest beta but not in the version you are using... That might explain it.
cheers,
Robin

Re: FLIR Spinnaker cameras
Hi Steve, the issue with ASCOM drivers is that the ASCOM architecture is not really designed around high speed imaging, more aimed at long exposure deep sky - that means you would struggle to get high frame rates, particularly for high resolution cameras as the data transfer will be an issue. There ...

Re: Sharpcap live stack
Hi more dark frames will not do any harm (as long as you have the patience to let them be captured and the disk space to store them!). Maybe create two sets of darks (20 frames and 50 frames) and see if you can see any difference in the final image depending on which you use. FITS is fine, and has t...
