Re: Live stacking issues with Optolong LPro filter

Hi Cey, to be honest with you I don't understand why the red channel is so dark either, but every test I've done on those images shows that the red channel in the dark frame is nearly as bright as it is in the light frame, while the blue/green channels are clearly brighter in the light frame than th...

Re: Documentation for Sharpcap object model

Hi,

there is no comprehensive documentation, but you can browse this sub forum for lots of examples and suggestions as well as using the 'help(...)' command inside the python scripting console to find out what is available.

Code: Select all

help(SharpCap)
cheers,

Re: LiveStack unable to Align

Hi, jumping straight to the screenshots, I can see that the stars in them are badly elongated instead of being round - this is preventing SharpCap from detecting them as stars, and instead it looks like the star detection is picking up on noise in the image instead because the sensitivity is turned ...

Re: Satellite trails

Hi, there is obviously less chance of getting a trail in the first 5 frames than the first 10, but there are some negatives to it - the effectiveness of determining what values are 'good' and what values are 'bad' is reduced when the initial number of frames is smaller - that means that it may let i...

Re: Altair 183c TEC intermittent fan and cooling

Hi Dan, the only Altair update since June was a new SDK that came in with 4.0.7957. Please go back to veersion 4.0.7944 and see if the problem goes away. If it does go away with 4.0.7944 and comes back when you try 4.0.7957 then we can be sure it is the SDK change and I can report the issue to Altai...

Re: Polemaster

Hi, SharpCap 4.0 has a new, more sensitive star detection system - see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/#Star%20Detection%20Settings . Basically you can now use the display stretch functionality to make stars show up in the image you see on screen and the polar alignment star detection will use the s...

Re: Altair 183c TEC intermittent fan and cooling

Hi Dan, do you remember which version you upgraded from that worked before? And does it all work fine if you then go back to that previous version? If we can track down which versions the problem was introduced between then I have a much better chance of understanding the cause. cheers, Robin PS. Is...

Hi,

I'm afraid I'm no expert in how they work, but you can find lots of guides to using them by searching online.

Re: Framerate between 1 and 2 fps

Hi,

can you try a slightly older version - 4.0.7957 - which you can find further down the downloads page. Versions after that have a software update from ZWO in them and I've already had reports that it causes problems with reduced frame rates on the ASI183 camera.

thanks,

Robin
