Re: Flat Frames with ZWO ASI294MC

Thanks Robin! Just to clarify: - If I'm going to use both Darks and Flats, create the Flats WITH the Bias option selected but do it BEFORE selecting anything into the DARKS area? Regarding my second question, what gain should I use when creating the flats? The same as I intend to use for the light f...

Re: Flat Frames with ZWO ASI294MC

Is the issue possibly that I had already selected a Master Dark into the Preprocessing "Subtract Dark" Area?

Flat Frames with ZWO ASI294MC

I'm venturing into Flat Frames with my ZWO ASI294MC Pro camera and have a few questions: - When I created flats, I did NOT have the option to "Capture and Subtract Bias Frames..." Any idea why? From what I've read elsewhere, I thought this was important to do. The check box would not let m...

Re: USB 3.0 Extension Cable with ZWO ASI294MC Pro

Excellent responses everyone! I've ordered a couple of powered USB 3.0 hubs that I'll try next, and if not successful, will then try the remote PC solution.

Thanks for your help!

USB 3.0 Extension Cable with ZWO ASI294MC Pro

Hi Everyone, I'd like to use a long USB 3.0 extension cable with SharpCap and my ZWO ASI294MC Pro camera so I can use SharpCap inside my house when it's cold outside. I bought and tried a 32' active USB 3.0 extension cable both with and without the included 5V power supply and in both cases SharpCap...

Re: Calibration Frames with Flip

Ok, I may be hyperventilating here....If I captured a whole series of darks at many different gains and exposures with the view "not flipped"so I can use them later, and then need to start imaging with a flip....do I have to capture darks again for that new flip view?

Re: How to Debayer 32-bit FITS files

Thanks Robin! I was able to use Deep Sky Stacker to create a debayered .tif file from the 32-bit FITS file. Yay!

Re: How to Debayer 32-bit FITS files

Lets approach it a different way... After live stacking with my color camera, I save a 32-bit FITS file and want to do my processing (stretch, enhance, etc) in Photoshop CC. Photoshop CC cannot open the FITS file, so what are the steps that I must go through (and tools to use) so that I have a resul...

Re: How to Debayer 32-bit FITS files

Hi Robin,

So....how do I go from the 32-bit FITS image that needs to be debayered into a Tiff file that IS debayered?

Re: How to Debayer 32-bit FITS files

The Live Stacking SAVE option includes: - Save as 16 bit stack (FITS file is created) - Save as Raw 32 bit stack (FITS file is created) - Save with Adjustments - Save exactly as seen The first two options are generating FITS files that need to be debayered. Pipp will debayer the 16-bit FITS file but...
