It seems that Avast was the issue. I uninstalled it - what a pain - the "normal" uninstall apparently doesn't remove it all, and so one has to run a special program with windows in safe mode.

But plate solving is now back.

Do you use in live view mode? I did not, so the image refreshes every x seconds.

Is live stacking enabled? I was only able to test inside. And weather Is uncooperative of late. Will become more so today - new scope being delivered!

quite good. I got it to work - one crash report was created and i sent along - but after that, no issue. I have a Canon T1i.


One point - my saved images are coming up in greyscale, although the "live" image in SC is in color. What to do ?

The CCD version cuts off the IR end of the spectrum at 700 nm, the non-CCD goes much farther. So you'll capture more energy, especially from galaxies. I think a light pollution filter is your first need. I use an Astronomik CLS ( the non ccd one).
