QHY168C Problems-Changing ROI Changes Gain and White Balance

This may be a continued problem related to the resolution problem. When I change the ROI to (for example 600x800), the gain changes to 30 and the white balance changes to R/G/B 7/7/7. In addition, when loading capture profiles after changing the ROI, the gain and white balance remain unchanged and s...

Re: Issues with QHY168C

I am used to seeing the counter go one full exposure before the new frame goes through. So for example, if I set the exposure to 30 seconds and change the gain from 3 to 6, I will have to wait out the remaining number of seconds of the exposure plus 30 seconds before it updates the new frame. During...

Re: More Problems with the QHY168C

Thanks Robin,
The ROI problem is new, and I indeed suspect it is related to the new drivers/SDK.

I will let them know.

More Problems with the QHY168C

I have not been able to fix the USB traffic problem using any SDK. I did download the 3.2.5967.0 version and at least the camera works. Unfortunately, other problems are now on the table, and I am not sure if these are related to the new SDK and patches to sharpcap. When I change the ROI, the camera...

Re: QHY168C Camera Exposure Time Not Correct

Thanks Robin,
I actually also tried this test using firecapture and it is not exhibiting this problem. Firecapture uses a much older SDK I believe. I will also try it with EZCapture from QHY tonight. I am not having this problem with my QHY224C.

Any thoughts?

Re: QHY168C Camera Exposure Time Not Correct

After further testing, I am finding the "last frame" indicates 0.4 seconds shorter than what the exposure time is set to. For example, if it is set to 10 seconds, the last frame is 9.6 seconds. 20 second exposure will shot the last frame 19.6s etc. at USB traffic 10. When I set usb traffic...

QHY168C Camera Exposure Time Not Correct

I installed the January 2019 update again, and am running my camera with the new drivers I installed. At 1000ms exposures and USB set to 10. I am noticing that the fps is about 1.1 to 1.3 in the bottom left corner. To check if the exposures are not correct, I decided to watched it for 60 seconds and...

QHY168C Doesn't Work, Give Error calling for Wrong Image Resolution

I updated sharpcap to the latest version from my previous January update. Now, my QHY168C camera will not start up after I select it in the pulldown menu. It gives an error, telling me to unplug the camera or try restarting sharpcap. Below the message it read some error and lists a resolution that t...

Sensor Analysis Gain Range and Steps

I recently bought a new camera for astrophotography, and immediately did my sensor analysis. I have noticed that Sharpcap devides the gain range into 6 steps. Yet, someone posted their sensor analysis on cloudynights, and I saw his gain range was divided into 14 steps. Is there a setting where I can...

Sharpcap 3.2 Question

I am curious about the reasoning to keep the live stacking feature as part of the same program, rather then separate it out as a separate program, like DSS live. This would make programming easier I would think, especially the programming for two-monitor viewing could be eliminated. With two program...
