Re: End of sequence after meridian flip

Hi, 'Stop at 1 from meridian' will stop the previous imaging when the mount is 1 degree short of reaching the meridian - 4 minutes of time. Depending on how quickly the sequence runs from that 'stop' point to getting to call the MeridianFlip subroutine, it could happen that the attempt at meridian f...

Re: Dark frame is completely dark on SV605cc

Hi, I have to say that looks pretty much fine to me - I downloaded the image and loaded it into SharpCap's test camera then stretched it and I can see that there is definitely a random background in the image Screenshot 2024-04-17 194333.jpg If you view the histogram in SharpCap while capturing dark...

Re: Sequence not stopping on time

Hi, I'm not sure about the expected behaviour of two stop at steps one inside the other with the same stop time - that may be part of the issue. I can also see that after the main part of the cancellation was complete, an auto-refocus kicked off at 07:30:01 with the detection of a large temperature ...

Re: Go to target selecting

Hi George,

thanks for the suggestion - I hadn't thought of that!

I have plans to improve the minimum altitude at some point so you can specify a variable horizon (different heights in different directions), so I will think about it then.

cheers,

Robin

Re: End of sequence after meridian flip

Hi Eric, ah yes, that is a SharpCap message! I was searching for the wrong wording. What is happening there is that the mount is say flipped past the meridian (east side pointing west at maybe 182 azimuth) according to the mount ASCOM co-ordinates. The plate solving result comes in at a position on ...

Re: FX Blue Channel for focusing an achromat

Hi, blue channel to mono would work for manual focusing, since you would only see the blue image data on screen. Unfortunately you cannot select the blue channel to mono at the same time as SharpCap's focus tools, but some of them do have an 'Image Processing' option in the controls on the left that...

Re: Mount controls !

Hi, no, no plans for Wifi or similar - although wireless connections to hardware seem convenient they are much more prone to glitches and problems than wired connections. The best way to do things is to put a small mini-PC at the telescope running SharpCap - this would have a wired connection to all...

Re: 183MC-Pro weirdness with SC 4.1.12025.0 (64-bit)

Hi, I think the first thing to try here would be to see if the problems are being caused by USB data transfer related issues. These can arise from using long cables, hubs, extensions or high values of the 'Turbo USB' setting. There are some hints here on things to try to help check if there are USB ...

Re: Mount controls !

Hi, hopefully someone who uses the AM5 can give you more details, but in outline... * Connect mount to PC/laptop with USB cable. * Make sure ASCOM platform (latest version installed) * Install ZWO ASCOM driver from here : https://www.zwoastro.com/software/ * Tell SharpCap that you would like it to u...

Re: Lunar Mosaic Tool.

Hi Matt,

glad you like it - if you haven't already give the automatic alignment a try... It tends to work really well (sometimes slightly over-exposing for the auto alignment helps)

cheers,

Robin
