Re: occultation recording with SharpCap
Hello Markus and Tim, Welcome to this TNO event. I hope I can record it too, my biggest worry is the weather ... I agree with Tim's points. Markus, don't worry about SNR. The best way is to convey on site between different parameters: sufficient short exposure time to record a possible secondary eve...

Re: IMP: Metadata missing in 8218
Hi, Missing object RA/DEC I cannot confirm (8218 32bit, w10, ASCOM-hub, QHY174GPS). They appear in FITS headers "RA"/"DEC" and "OBJCTRA"/"OBJCTDEC". At least "Test Platesolve" seems to work also. Focal length (as set in platesolve options) I haven't ...

Re: Start /Mid /End selection for fits file & additional header info
Hi,
Just made some tests with the latest v4 (4.0.8218.0) under w10 using a (FW-upgraded) QHY174GPS. With the new FITS header infos no issues found. No problems with headers if GPS is enabled.
Thank you, Robin.

That's right. The calibration depends only on the exposure time and the USB traffic.

Missing Plate Solve Test Button under W7SP1
Hi Robin,
With the latest SC4 32 bit, under W10, there is a button "Test Selected Plate Solver" (works fine). However, under W7SP1 the button is absent (maybe hidden? - but I cannot change the window size).
Thanks, Christian

Re: QHY174M-GPS binning fps peroformance
Hi,
Hiroyuki, I cannot confirm your observation regarding threading. With my system described above I do not see a difference, always all 4/4 threads seem to be used.
On a second system under W7SP1 i7 I observe 4/8 threads are used regardless the SC settings.
Cheers, Christian

Re: QHY174M-GPS binning fps peroformance
Hi, With the same settings/setup as above I repeated the test with GPS OFF (blue), but only for full frame. I confirm Robin's and Jean-Francois's result: no framerate drops. In addition, I repeated the test also with GPS ON. Surprisingly I could not reproduce the drops found (red) in my first test. ...
