Re: New Zwo camera drivers 3.22 and SDK 1.29
Hi Menno, thanks for flagging this up - I have grabbed the new version for inclusion in next week's SharpCap 4.1 update, and will move it across to 4.0 subsequently. I think I have an SVBony SDK update too that I need to bring in for next week. The only changes in the SDK documentation were minor cl...

Re: No Exposure Option
Hi, for webcams, the controls that you get to see in SharpCap come from choices made by the people who designed the camera Windows drivers, or (if the camera doesn't have windows drivers) from the people who designed the camera hardware. SharpCap shows all the controls that the camera makes availabl...

Re: Sharpcap always shows different coordinates from stellarium
Hi, actually, it's a bit more complex than SharpCap always using J2000... SharpCap always uses J2000 for a two main things 1) Co-ordinates of any target that you want to GOTO from the catalog of targets, via the sequencer, etc. This is because catalog co-ordinates listed for objects are almost invar...

Re: Cannot install update or remove sharpcap
Hi Kurt, from the logs, it looks like you had SharpCap 64 bit version 4.0.8949 installed - that is the install file it is looking for and failing to find when trying to do the upgrade. Hopefully downloading and running that installer (https://d.sharpcap.co.uk/download.html?version=4.0.8949.0&arc...

Re: New Feature : Improved Star detection in Multi-star FWHM Focus
Hi Mike, that's very odd - I can't quite see how the colour filter would have such a big effect - basically it should just make things about 3 times dimmer, which is easily compensated with gain/exposure tweaks. If you have a chance, please save a 'working' image and a few 'not working' images into ...

Re: How do I automate a Lunar mosaic with SC?
Hi, for those interested in this topic, the latest beta version of SharpCap 4.1 contains the first prototype of the mosaic feature. Please see this forum post for more details : https://forums.sharpcap.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=6521 Note that this is not a finished feature yet - it's a work in progress ...

Re: Plate Solve in Goto Target/Coordinates not working
Hi, thanks, that's good feedback. It would be interesting to know what gain/exposure you start out at that gets changed to 4s/370 gain. The current code tries to keep the image brightness the same by boosting the gain as much as it drops the exposure, but that is probably a mistake as a dimmer image...

Re: Here's a utility to analyze SharpCap's Log
Hi, that looks very cool - thanks for sharing. I also find the log can be difficult to find specific things in at times, but almost all of the info comes in handy from time to time when tracking down bugs or whatever. I use a freeware program called 'Tailviewer' which is quite good for finding parti...

Re: Script for occultation observation
Hi,
yes, that's the problem with Windows Forms - much harder to change the colour of some things without rewriting the whole thing from scratch. WPF does give you the ability to re-theme moderately easily. Unfortunately, writing WPF in python is probably close to impossible sadly
cheers,
Robin

Re: Bin2 Plate Solve
Hi Don,
well, I can try the next time I have some clear skies to see if the same happens to me. I have a couple of cameras with the same sensor in, although not the ZWO version.
cheers,
Robin
