Re: Sensor Analysis...almost there?

Thanks Robin! That makes sense. The Horizon does have Low, Medium, and High presets but I've never tried to go beyond those if that's even possible. I guess it's a moot point anyway if SC can't find and manipulate gain for the analysis. No worries, the cameras have still played nicely with SC all of...

Sensor Analysis...almost there?

Hi All! After working with SC for a few years now, I decided to spend some time setting up the Smart Histogram 3.2 function for my Atik Horizon cameras. I've started out with the mono camera and although the analysis routine seems to go through the process fine, I'm not getting the final gain/noise ...

Re: Atik Horizon (original) Native Support?

Hi Robin!

Nice to hear from you again. I'll check the Core version that I have...haven't felt the need to update in a while since everything was working so nicely!

So briefly, what are the advantages generally of having native support for cameras as opposed to ASCOM only?

Thanks!

Atik Horizon (original) Native Support?

Hello All! I've successfully used my Horizon 1 on SharpCap for several years now via ASCOM. I decided to load a more current software version of SC...3.2.6480...in hopes that this version might provide native support rather than just through ASCOM. I know that Robin was working on that for Horizons ...

Re: Max Dither Step Question

Hi Robin...

Of course! Sorry, didn't even think about the scale difference. Thanks for indulging me! If it'll let me, I'll experiment with the PHD Dither scale setting to see if I can limit the movement further...I have a 162mm fl guide scope.

Best wishes,
Craig

Re: Max Dither Step Question

Hi Robin I checked several PHD log samples and didn't see anything out of line."Dither by" in one sample was 0.997, -0.109 and the new lock position was not radically moved. None of my dither samples were over .999. Also checked the PHD Dither scale and it's set at 1.0. Nothing obviously o...

Max Dither Step Question

Hello! Not sure if this makes a big difference in the final image but according to my Drift Graph, the XY dithering pixel movement seems to regularly exceed the 1 pixel Max Dither Step that I've selected. If I've correctly interpreted what the graph is telling me, some of my dither steps shift the n...
