Re: Flat field problem with latest Beta
Hi Pete, thanks for checking and reporting back. I'm surprised that the background subtraction was the cause of the problem - it's supposed to be compatible with darks and flats (it is applied after dark and flat correction). Or do you mean that background subtraction might have been on when taking ...

Re: Dither without guiding questions
Hi, Q1 and Q2 are all related to the fact that SharpCap up to and including 3.2 works like a video camera (taking frames all the time) and live stacking was built around that. In those versions of SharpCap there was no way to pause capturing. SharpCap 4.0 has a still capture mode, but so far it's no...

Re: Extra File After Dither
Hi,
Can I just confirm the context here? Live stacking with PHD2?
Do either of you have a log you can share?
cheers, Robin

Re: FITS vs. TIFF
Hi, the images you are saving are RAW images with the colour information contained in the fine grid pattern you will see if you zoom in to the pixel level. In order to process these images properly, they need to be debayered to extract the colour information, but DSS will only do this when loading F...

Re: SharpCap beta Sequencer Pause Button
Hi Phil,
it changes back and forward between Pause and Resume for me (both in the main sequence editor and in the small progress window). What step do you have running when you press Pause - maybe that has an effect?
cheers,
Robin

Re: Flat field problem with latest Beta
Hi Pete, I haven't changed anything in the flat correction code for quite a long time (several weeks at least), so it's unlikely to be any change in the latest beta. In particular I checked the changes between 7806 and 7824 and there was nothing that would affect flat capture or flat correction. Wha...

Hi,
yes the raw frames are the light frames - they are the images that came off the camera without any dark/flat correction applied to them.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Selection of ROI after reconnexion of a camera
Hi, Ah, I see - I was relying on the QHY SDK to reliably report on whether the various white balance controls were available - looks like it incorrectly reports that they are available for that model. I can wrap all the white balance code in a check to see if it is a colour camera, which should work...

Re: ZWO ASI6200mm Pro camera exposure failure
Hi, ah, that is slightly different - there is a timeout in that error log which may be that I am not allowing enough time for the data to transfer off of the camera to the computer. I will increase the timeout (maybe the values aren't appropriate for today's large format cameras). On the other hand,...

Hi,
yes, a good plan to experiment with a number of variations to see if there is a pattern.
cheers,
Robin
