Re: Drift Graph Tab Info
Hi Robin Thanks for that just to clarify though that 0.25 pixel in your example if it was applied to the screen shot would be 0.25 from the first image as I assume the 0.04 degrees is in relation to image ones original position so in reality I am seeing 0.025ish pixel drift frame to frame so as you ...

M45 - At last a clear night
Well the rain has finally stopped so got out to use the scope and try the new mechanised polar alignment which worked really well quickly got to 2 seconds of error so thought that's close enough and started imaging. The shot below is the best 64 x 3 min subs out of 72. Image Info : Imaging kit : APM...

Drift Graph Tab Info
Just started imaging and was looking at the Drift graph tab the image below is the first ten 3min subs I know the left graph shows me the pixel difference between the subs and the two grouping offset is due to a dither as they are around each other but separated if that makes sense. The right hand t...

Re: Pier and Mount Modifications
Hi Robin, May look at the scripting option longer term, as an update have done some more machining and remade the left / right adjustment and have now added the vertical movement option as well. The left right is on a 8mm 2mm pitch lead screw and nut with the stepper running 3200 micro steps per rev...

Re: Polar alignment accuracy
Hi Robin, Thanks for that will watch the video, I polar align with my main scope and camera and a 3 to 4 second exposure so my pixel scale is 0.99 pixels to per arc second. Have just finished machining everything and fitted it to the mount and pier just need a clear night to try it all out in anger....

Polar alignment accuracy
Hi Robin, I was wondering about the accuracy of the polar alignment in Sharpcap as the readout shows the error in degrees minutes and seconds and so at the second level it is 3600th of a degree if the mount left right adjustment post was at say 115mm radius from the rotation point of the mount this ...

Pier and Mount Modifications
Hi Robin, To give this some context my observatory has an opening in the roof rather than a entire slide off roof. The upshot of this is that my mount has to be lifted out of / into the roof to achieve this I have done a little bit of plasma cutting and a bit of welding to create a telescopic pier. ...

Re: M33 two nights of data

M33 two nights of data
Hi This is my first attempt combining two session with APP so this is the 103 best 3 min frames from a total of 120 gathered over two nights then combined with separate darks flats bias etc in APP. Giving a total integration time of 5hrs 9min might add more at a later date. It is also the first nigh...
