Align Frame checkbox

HI Robin I realize this is a minor problem in the big scheme of things but the manual states under Live Stacking........ "Controls Group · Align Frames – turn alignment and de-rotation on/off ( default on )......" However, most of the time it is not default on (i.e., unchecked) and I did n...

Re: Trailing/Drifting Stars

Hi Robin

Yes- I tried it last night and it worked just fine. I thought that box was to be checked by default. I never touched it before so not sure how it got unchecked. Anyway, problem solved.

Re: Trailing/Drifting Stars

I just noticed that the Align Frame box was not checked. Not sure if that is the problem so will try tonight unless someone can address my issue with the correct solution. If that is the problem, I have no idea how that got unchecked as I never touched it before.

Trailing/Drifting Stars

For the past week, I have been getting star trails with both my ASI385 and 294 cameras in live viewing. I thought it was my mount (Mach 1) but I tried my AVX with the exact same results. PA was spot on with both scopes using 2 different methods and both balanced. I called Astro-Physics and we ran a ...

Re: Autofocusing error

Thanks- I was confused at first as I tried the "other" black level. I did reduce this one as well but the error existed. I'll try again and hopefully the problem will not persist.

Autofocusing error

I have been using the Celestron autofocuser with no problem. Now, all I get is an error message when I try to do a single star focus using FWHM that says: NO PIXELS ARE ABOVE THE BLACK LEVEL - INCREASE EXPOSURE OR REDUCE THE BLACK LEVEL I usually have been doing about a 5 or 10s exposure but regardl...

Plate solving & Skysafari Pro 6

I've never tried plate solving but it would be helpful for my scope over 11ft both the ground on a pier and no practical way to use a finder scope. What I want to know is if I can do plate solving with the mount controlled using Skysafari Pro via wifi vs. through SC and the ASCOM driver for my Astro...

Night Mode

I must be half blind but I cannot find where to turn SC into night mode to have the screen dark with the orange lettering. Where is the button to switch this on?

Re: auto-focusing

I have used the Celestron auto focuser the past 2 nights. I used the FWHM measurement at a star close to the DSO of interest. I used about a gain of 350 with an exposure of 10s. It has worked ok, with a fluctuation in the red, green, and yellow bars as indicated in the SC documentation. Some of the ...
