Re: qhy 168c 0 wonky values

Robin: Having re-read this entire thread with coffee in my system, I see you said the gain in previous versions of SharpCap was a digital gain, so all adjustments I made or sensor analysis made were to the digital gain rather than the the true (RGB) gains. Now that makes sense. This also helps me be...

Re: qhy 168c 0 wonky values

I was unable to get to my telescope tonight, but tomorrow night looks a lot better. Just so I am clear on how to use the new release, I understand you now have 3 separate gain adjustments, but I am not clear on how that makes the sensor analysis or the smart histogram work correctly for my QHY165C. ...

Re: qhy 168c 0 wonky values

Thank you for taking the time to work on this! I will give this a try today or tomorrow. Last night, I used sensor analysis with the most recent public version of SharpCap, and noticed SharpCap would start the offset at a value of 204. But when the offset is higher than around 65 on your slider, it ...

Re: qhy 168c 0 wonky values

Hey Robin, I installed and started using your newest SharpCap with my QHY165C. You may recall a year or so ago, we worked on figuring out issues with the sensor analysis for my camera. It appears by your remark in this message that you did add a fix for my camera? Anyway, I will give the newest vers...

Re: QHY168c Gain Scaling question

Robin:

Perhaps something I could set in a config file, on the command line or through your scripting tool. Looking forward to using SharpCap to its fullest!

Thanks
Bryan

Re: QHY168c Gain Scaling question

Robin: I installed the latest version of SharpCap to try with my 165C camera. I found that my sensor analysis came much closer to working than anything previously. I noticed the gain and offset ranges on the SharpCap sliders are more in line with what I see from the native QHY drivers, whereas befor...

Re: QHY168c Gain Scaling question

You may recall that we ran into a dead-end with my QHY165C, which as I understand it, is very close to the QHY168C. In my case, the smart histogram never worked because it would get an exposure level that would not work. https://forums.sharpcap.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1092 Since SharpCap sens...

Re: Sensor Analysis on QHY165C

Excellent. Thank you. I will give this a go and certainly end up better off than I am now. I tried using the BasicCCDParameters script in PixInsight, but I was never sure if it was giving me the data I needed.

Re: Issues with QHY168C

Just one note to add with respect to my 165C. I found if SC set the power level to 255, the camera acted as temperature control was turned off. So if I manually set the power level to something lower than 255, the camera began cooling again and worked correctly. Also, I eventually ended up using EZC...
