Re: Weird behavior SC 4.1.11824

Hi, OK, I can shed some light on some of the issues... 1) Controls vanishing briefly after focus scans - SharpCap 4.1 puts the camera into still mode for focus scans if the exposure is above about 2s - this helps avoid frames being captured during focuser moves and speeds up the scan, but can mean a...

Re: Feature Tracking bright area during capture

Ah, OK, that makes even more sense then I think... The glitched frames are the ones when the camera is responding to the ROI change - I suspect if you move the ROI area around manually you will see the same thing happening from time to time. I'm not sure that there is anything to be done here - depe...

Re: SVBony SV305 (Older Non Pro) not natively detected

Hi, that is very weird - I will pass this question on to SVBony to see if they have any ideas, since I've run out of them! As a workaround, copying a copy of SVBCamera.dll from an older version of Sharpcap may help, but if you do that, run Sharpcap direct from the .exe file in the install folder. Us...

Hi,

I thought I had fixed this one, but maybe I didn't get it right - I will check again.

Re: First image won't update when capturing.

Hi Gene, the first suggestion for this problem is to set the 'Force Still Mode' option in the controls on the right to on. This ought to help with the missing first frame problem, which tends to be an issue with some QHY cameras when used in long exposures in live mode. I have raised this issue with...

Re: GoTo : wrong coordinates for targets

Hi, the difference between J2000 and JNOW should not put you off target by more than about 8 minutes of arc, so if you are ending up a degree or more off then J2000/JNOW is not the whole of the problem. Some things that occur to me are 1) Do you have the option to solve/sync turned on in SharpCap? I...

Re: Time Sync from PC to Mount

Hi, unfortunately it's really the details of how the ASCOM driver code implements the time read/set operation that is key here, not the settings. I have a celestron mount and handset I can test with CPWI to see if it reports PC time or mount time, and whether setting the time via ASCOM has any effec...

Re: Direction control button switches off tracking

Hi, yes, those options sound correct. One thing I would point out is that by watching the co-ordinates (particularly RA), you can determine if the mount continues tracking after various tests, even without needing clear skies. If the RA remains constant then the mount is tracking, if it is changing ...

Re: 2600mc Pro EAA

Hi Paul, I suspect the age of the i7-4500U CPU (over 10 years now) is a big part of the issue. Although it did have built in graphics, those will be very old now and may not even have up-to-date drivers. Both of the suggestions that you list should do a good job. 16Gb of memory would typically be pl...
