Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

OK. I switched to 4.0.9538.0-64bit to avoid memory problems, and I can select "Hardware Binning" with bin=1 and everything else default. But when I try to change to bin=2 it crashed saying the camera could not be restarted after changing Binning from 1 to 2, with an ErrorInvalidSize from c...

Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

Thanks Robin. I'll explore it further and send you a bug report if the problem is not just me.

ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

I am impressed with the ASI6200MM-Pro. There is no amp glow (as there is with the ASI294MM-Pro) and noise is low even with 10 minute exposures. Selected area imaging such as 1600x1200 pixels allows high frame rates for focussing, and up to x4 binning increases brightness, important for my low-light ...

Re: Sensor Analysis

Robin points out that amp glow is much reduced in recent Sony IMX CMOS sensors, but some camera makers claim that their own circuitry eliminates it, eg for the Touptek (?) IMX492 camera marketed by TS-Optics https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p15279_TS-Optics-MONO...

Re: Expose two identical cameras simultaneously ?

Thanks Robin. I'll look into SharpCap's /runscript switch. I've not tried that yet and it sounds interesting. I'll also ask ZWO to distinguish between two identical cameras in their ASCOM driver.

Cheers Alan

Expose two identical cameras simultaneously ?

I want to expose two identical ZWO cameras simultaneously, under the exact same conditions, and eventually stitch the images together eg with imageJ. Some years ago I wrote an imageJ script http://neutronoptics.com/ascom.html to do that (for Atik cameras) by calling the ASCOM driver FITS.DLL https:/...

Re: Where is Custom Capture Area for ASI294MM?

Custom Capture Areas for the ASI294MM can now be set, and are remembered between startups. Thanks Robin. As you said, they are stored in the Registry and can only be removed by RegEdit. I'm not sure why ZWO sets such a long list, since I imagine one or two custom areas would suffice in addition to t...

Re: Where is Custom Capture Area for ASI294MM?

Thanks again Robin. As I wrote earlier, it's not urgent, and I will be away next week, but I will check it when I get back.

Cheers, Alan.

Re: Where is Custom Capture Area for ASI294MM?

Thanks for your quick work Robin, and sorry for my slow response. Unfortunately the behaviour hasn't changed. None of the camera settings are saved after "Apply" and "OK". Nothing happens, and if I re-enter Settings, the camera hardware settings haven't changed. I understand you ...

Re: Where is Custom Capture Area for ASI294MM?

Glad you found it Robin. No urgency in this. Leave it to your next iteration.
