Re: Sensor Analysis on QHY165C
As soon as SharpCap 3.1 finished running with RAW8, I switched to RAW16 and re-ran the Sensor Analysis (I did not touch anything else in the GUI). This time, it ran as expected up to the point where it asked me to cover the sensor for dark measurements. When I covered the sensor, the "Proceed&q...

Re: Sensor Analysis on QHY165C
I just discovered if I select "Colour Space" of RAW8 instead of RAW16, the sensor analysis works. It still sets the initial offset to 204 and gain to 100 for SharpCap 3.2, but the sensor analysis was successful. I got a Mean ADU measurement graph that is close to a diagonal line from upper...

Re: Sensor Analysis on QHY165C
I tried using the latest SharpCap 3.2.5781.0 (BETA) 9/28/2018 software. I turn off all illumination and run the sensor analysis. Gain goes to 100 and offset goes to 204. And I get the same message about light levels being too high. I have been shooting with an offset of 4 and gain of 180 which "...

Re: Sensor Analysis on QHY165C
I am finally back home again, trying out the sensor analysis with my QHY165C. I downloaded SharpCap 3.1.5220.0 and when I use the "Sensor Analysis", it does the same as what it did in the beginning. That is, as soon as I press start, it kicks the gain to 255 and I get the error message tel...

Re: Sensor Analysis on QHY165C
Greg,
If you can make the sharpcap patch available that I can access, I will give the same setup a try for my qhy165c. In the meantime, I will try downloading the same from the their website.
Thanks,
Bryan

Re: Sensor Analysis on QHY165C
Regarding thermal control, if I run EZCap_QT and let it do thermal control, everything works correctly. But you need to be careful that EZCap_QT has the rhermal control. I found for example if I touch the thermal control in SharpCap, it overrides EZCap_QT and goes back to being broken. So the last t...

Re: Sensor Analysis on QHY165C
I thought I would check back about the update you wrote about. Is there an update to SharpCap with the change you made to the gain so it goes to 100 when set to 255 for my QHY165C? I downloaded 3.2 beta, and the first attempt seemed to work in that I got the green "x" in a line as expected...

Re: Sensor Analysis on QHY165C
I will get in touch with the folks at QHY to ask them about the power level 255 question and verify that the SDK reports gains between 0 and 255 to see if that is what was expected. You said you could try limiting the gain to 100 if the max is 255 and we will see what comes out as the result (we may...
