Re: OBJCTRA and OBJCTDEC

This seems a bit backward to me. The plate solve is of the image. The result is relevant to the image and is what should be written in the header. There's no reason that the mount shouldn't be slewing to the next target. Doing it via ASCOM is making a lot of assumptions that would result in the inco...

QHY174M-GPS - Stop time with Cal LED

SharpCap Pro 3.1.5022 If you turn on the Calibration LED, the time from the camera freezes. The difference between the GPS and PC clock increases accordingly. Turning off the Calibration LED doesn't fix the time freeze but moving either of the Calibration Start/End sliders does. Checking back, this ...

Re: New Poster - Considering purchasing Sharpcap Pro

I think your chances are quite high. I use it with a wide FoV (8 x 11 deg) in the southern hemisphere and it will often get a good plate solve when the pole is outside the FoV. I might see part of one or two green circles and I can use that to get the mount pointed roughly south before starting the ...

Minor nitpick - Perhaps you could change that label to SCP for us upside-down folks. :)

Re: Spiral search problem with Skywatcher mounts

I'm fairly new to using ASCOM for mount control so I couldn't say if it is more or less common when doing a spiral search through SharpCap than any other program/means. Luckily I was doing the spiral at a slow rate. I just remembered seeing this thread so I thought I'd report it. I see how there's n...

Re: Spiral search problem with Skywatcher mounts

I had this happen last night. A spiral search initiated in SharpCap ran correctly for a while and then just kept going in one direction. SharpCap didn't lock up for me but disconnecting from the mount, quitting out of SharpCap and stopping ASCOM didn't stop the mount. I had to reboot to get connecti...

Need restart to update Brain sensor data

If I change cameras by unplugging/reconnect, the Smart Histogram doesn't update the sensor data it's using. It has the same graph as the previous camera. If I quit out of SharpCap and restart it with the camera connected or connecting the camera after it's restarted, the sensor data is correct. I'm ...

Re: RA and DEC in FITS header/TimeStamp

Robin, Would it be possible for SharpCap to grab the position information when you use the "Sync PC clock" function and then apply it to the FITS header of any subsequent images until the camera gets disconnected ? That way you could run the camera in 8-bit mode until the GPS information is good, sy...

Scrap that. I've found how I can move that bar around (right-click / Move).

Re: QHY1274M-GPS LAT data discrepancies

I would have thought "GPS ON" would have the window visible and "GPS OFF" would close the window completely. Maybe there's a circumstance I haven't thought of where you would want the window present & minimized but the GPS Off. Part of the issue for me appears to be the way the windows are configure...
