Re: SharpCap 3.3 Beta Now Available

When you make a new release, could you make a note of any external things that Sharpcap needs and if they need updating from the previous version please ? eg. The Microsoft .NET thingy. I've been caught by this a couple of times when I've gone out to the telescope clutching my USB stick with a shiny...

Advanced Spiral

Would it be possible to enhance the functionality of the spiral search ? Plate solving is fine for DSO's, star fields, etc but falls down for finding planets where you are likely to be imaging with a small sensor at long focal lengths. A few things come to mind. 1) How is the step size of the spiral...

Re: Sync buton, after manual alignment.

You can do the second sync from within your planetarium program. At least, you can with CdC and I'm sure you can with others. Do the Plate Solve, Slew and Sync from within SharpCap. Center the object and then do a Sync in CdC. It asks if you are pointed to the object and then takes your word for it....

Re: Polar alignment with Astrotrac

Does your ballhead have a panoramic base ?
If so, you can do the rotation with that as it's aligned to the polar axis. There are other options but you are rather limited if you only have that lens/camera combo.

Re: SharpCap 3.3 Beta Now Available

I've tried the ROI feature tracking a couple of times and haven't had any success. I'm testing it by turning off the tracking on the mount while imaging Mars so maybe the rate of movement is too high (EFL = 5600mm). I've tried both Center of Mass and Image Features and can see that SC has captured t...

Re: SharpCap 3.3 Beta Now Available

Finally got one ! SharpCap ADC.gif It seems to be if you have used the ADC tool once and then change the resolution, either to a larger (including maximum) or smaller size. The first time works OK but a resize breaks it. I also tried it with both RAW8 and RAW16 and with the ASI1600MC and QHY5ii-C wi...

Re: SharpCap 3.3 Beta Now Available

ADC tool goes nuts if not using full area of sensor. Version 3.3.6882.0 32 bit, Win10 x64, ASI1600MC. Capturing in RAW16. It works fine if the using at the full resolution of the sensor but if I select a smaller capture area (eg. 1024 x 768) it goes into a death spiral (so I couldn't generate a cras...
