Re: Reference of timestamp
Hi, Robin is right. I would add the SWISS DVTI camera https://dvticam.com/product. An example frame of the QHY174GPS: qhy174gps.jpg There is also a Moravian camera with GPS and getting the data from it read by SharpCap is on my todo list... Interesting, Robin - do you have a link? Christian Weber

Hi Carlo,
I just tested the links, both worked. The title of the paper is "Reaching Submillisecond Accuracy in Stellar Occultations and Artificial
Satellite Tracking". Try a Google search.

Using SharpCap in a paper on a test device for time-domain astronomy
Hi, In our paper, we describe a test device for time-domain instruments (mainly for stellar occultation astronomy and artificial satellite tracking). SharpCap played an important role in testing the device. Many thanks to Robin for developing SharpCap. You can find the original paper here: https://i...

Re: time stamp font size
there will be at least someone who likes it the way it is! ... indeed  , e.g. the "shadow hunters" = star occultation observers usually work with very small areas of interest to achieve high frame rates without frame drops. And then larger fonts would hide too much information. (Th...

This would also be a very welcome feature for the occultation community - as we are always in a hurry to find the right star

Re: QHY174M-GPS calibration StartPos and EndPos
Hi Bill,
I meant "to" about 3 (e.g. 3 on my W7 machine, 0 on my W10 machine). You can test it with SC's FPS display at the bottom of the GUI. For plate solving 560 mm FL should be sufficient, you could also try a reducer.
Cheers

Re: QHY174M-GPS calibration StartPos and EndPos
Hi Bill, all, I fully agree with the statements about auto-calibration. On your picture I see that the "USB traffic" is set to 50. Please try to reduce this value (usually around 3 ... 0) to avoid dropped frames. Reducing the capture area also helps against dropped frames. And, start the G...

Re: Some change with GPS window status
Hi, A short test with 9063 32 bit pro under W7-64: @ Jean-Francois: no GPS issues. @ Robin: Glad to see that the GPS status window is dark now - thanks. However, with a small laptop in the field the window should be scalable or at least it should be possible to move it behind the main window to see ...
