Re: "Blind" Dithering

Hi Adam, Yes, as long as you are using the live stacking feature then you can set up SharpCap to send periodic dither commands to PHD2. You will find this in the guiding tab of the live stacking UI. As people on the forums have noted, you can take advantage of this feature to enable dithering for no...

Re: Renaming Capture Profiles in Manager

Hi, Oops, I think you found a place where the documentation is claiming a feature that doesn't really exist :-( I did have a plan to make a rename feature available for the profiles but by the look of things it never quite got implemented. If you really need to rename profiles then you can do so by ...

Re: Plate Solve Sync'ing but Not Re-Centring G11GT Mount Gemini II

Hi, When I would have said that it wasn't possible for that the happen, but I can see from your logs that the mount only seems to be moving in the declination direction when it is asked to re-goto the original target. Re: Sensor Analysis Mono Setting

Hi, As long as SharpCap will successfully talk to your CCD camera then you should be able to run the sensor analysis and then let the smart histogram calculate optimum exposure values for you. The CCD will almost certainly not have a variable gain control, but even so the analysis may take a long ti...

Re: Problems with PoleMaster

Hi, Build 6137 has yet another version of the qhy SDK – unfortunately since I don't have a pole master camera I can't test this before I release a new build, but it sounds possible that the camera has been broken again in the latest SDK version. Try going back to previous version (6128?) and see if ...

Re: Save Individual Frames Option

Hi, Thanks for the report. I've just tested and I can't make this particular issue happen either when using the test camera. I also looked at the code and can't see an obvious way that those frames could get saved if the checkboxes aren't ticked, but who knows… Please let me know if it happens again...

Re: Polar Alignment & Plate solving

Hi, Unfortunately the algorithm that SharpCap uses to do the polar alignment wouldn't work correctly with the reference images a long way away from the pole - firstly it would require a full accounting for spherical geometry which can be largely ignored if you restrict the area in which you work to ...

Re: License entry

Hi,

Hopefully your question will be answered if you take a look at the SharpCap licence FAQ - https://store.astrosharp.co.uk/faq

Let me know if you still have any problems.

Re: Mintron camera support

Hi, People have certainly used that type of analogue camera with SharpCap using a frame grabbing device to bring the images into the computer. There may be settings that need to be adjusted for the frame capture device to get an image to appear. Those do vary from device to device, but you can see t...

Re: Live Stacking with A DOB

Hi,

Yes, absolutely. You will start to see some darkened regions near the edges of the view where areas that have gone out of view due to the rotation are no longer receiving image data, but you can always crop those regions off the final image.
