Re: Flip / rotate displayed image when acquiring RAW images

Hi, at the moment SharpCap shows a flip option for some cameras (where the camera itself supports it - ZWO I think is the main example here). It would be nice in a future version to add a flip option for other cameras and it's something that has been mentioned before. One annoyance is there is no 'r...

Re: unable to run beta versions

Hi, the error code means that another installation is running (which agrees with the messages you are seeing). Sometimes this can happen if there is an install going on in the background due to Windows Update running or some other program auto-updating. Searching for the error code - 0x80070652 - mo...

Re: QHY174M-GPS - Stop time with Cal LED

I didn't really make my point in the above post... I guess the point is that the only reason to turn the LED on is to adjust the start/end values, so the workaround for the bug is built into the usual operating procedure.

cheers,

Re: QHY174M-GPS - Stop time with Cal LED

Hi Steve, The theory with the calibration LED is that you turn it on, adjust the start and end values based on whether you see the LED glow onscreen and then turn it offf - at that point your timing should be microsecond accurate to GPS time.I think the calibration procedure is to adjust the start t...

Re: QHYIII224C Anti Amp Glow

It's not listed in the changelog for the most recent published QHY SDK (http://www.qhyccd.com/SWHIST_SDK.html). I have a newer version from them for testing at the moment, which should be released soon, but I don't have the full changelog for that, or a 224 camera to test with :(

cheers,

Re: Variable Stars with SharpCap 3.1

Hi Brian, well, I think you can make some progress - for instance * Select a small ROI and make sure your reference star is the brightest star in it * Live Stack for 10 frames * Pause live stacking * Read off the max pixel value from the screen (live stacking panel). You will be aiming for 374400 (2...

Re: Problems plate solving

Ok, I see what is going on with the different solutions - the last log that you sent shows that the plate solve has come upon a relatively poor match for the field at RA,Dec = (234.596,6.41545), pixel scale 7.38199 arcsec/pix . The way the plate solver behind AstroTortilla, ASPS etc works is that it...

Re: How to report a Bug

SharpCap is setting too long an exposure during the sensor analysis due to a bug in sensor analysis initialization (setting Brightness not Offset to a near minimum value). I think many of the other observations are following on from this - for instance the long exposure value will be saved automatic...
