Re: grid on avi

Hi,

you have captured in 'RAW' mode, which is a good thing, but that means that the output file needs an extra processing step called 'debayering' to get rid of the grid pattern and get the colours back - see viewtopic.php?t=254 for some more info.

cheers,

Robin

Re: Bad debayering with Skyris 132C?

Hi, ok, looks like the code is failing to spot that you have a colour camera properly, which is why you get MONO8/16 not RAW8/16. I can fix that easily for the next version - then you can capture in RAW to SER output and you will find that processing programs like AutoStakkert should automatically d...

Re: Smart histo ROI

Hi, I'd suggest using the ROI selection tool (red square), but the other way would work. It's not going to mess up if you select a smaller camera capture area and then go back to full screen and it shouldn't let you measure with binning enabled (or at least you shouldn't even if it will let you!) ch...

Re: What computer to buy?

Hi, so it looks like you have about 2Gb of available memory and most likely a 32 bit version of Windows - that's just not enough to support the live stacking of high res cameras sadly. My advice would be to make sure you get a new system with 8Gb of ram and use a 64 bit version of Windows on it. For...

Sony 174 sensor if you are happy with big pixels? 32k FWD.

Re: Bad debayering with Skyris 132C?

Hi, yes, sounds like something is not quite right with the debayering - can I ask some questions? 1) Is the image shown in SharpCap itself the right colours? Does it show the screen door effect when zooming in/out? 2) What file format are you trying to capture to? 3) Do you have an option for RAW8 o...

Re: Plate solving

Ok, I will see if I can work out a way to make it work with both different sorts of mount.

Calling ASCOM a 'standard' is sadly a joke to be honest - every manufacturer interprets it their own way

Re: Plate solving

Hi, did it work in SharpCap 3.0 but now fails in 3.1? I see from the log that your mount is Alt/Az - 3.0 used to send a command to sync to RA/Dec co-ordinates and some mounts didn't like that so I changed the code to send a 'SyncToAltAz' command for an Alt/Az mount. It looks like your mount software...

Re: 10/12/14 bit FITS Natural Bit Depth

Hi Minos,

ZWO have updated their SDK to include this info - new version that supports this in ZWO cams coming today. QHY have said they will add this, but the SDK is not ready just yet.

cheers,

Re: Plate solving

Hi,

use the 'Image' control on the right (the button is 'Browse...' now, not 'Properties...') - https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/2.9/#Test%20Cameras
