Re: Plate solving and 10 micron

Hi Ana, if you are using a mount with a complex pointing model then it's probably best to change the plate solving setting for what to do after solving to 'Offset the mount position to center the target'. This avoids sending a sync command to the mount, instead it issues a new GOTO to slightly diffe...

Re: How do I automate a Lunar mosaic with SC?

Hi,

yes, this is till on the TODO list - I would like to have some sort of version available this year. I am working on more basic aspects of a future planetary imaging sequencing tool like autoexposure at the moment.

Nice solar image too!

cheers,

Robin

Re: Mount sync issue

Hi, you can try switching to the ASCOM 'Telescope Simulator for .NET' mount for testing when the skies are not co-operating. If you switch off the option to use the focal length in the SharpCap plate solve settings then the test picture of the Orion nebula should solve easily (as long as the mount i...

Re: When starting new Live Stack SharpCapt moves saved images to new target folder

Hi Joey, there is a feature here that is helpful for most people, but it sounds like you are encountering it as a bug :( One thing that people do frequently is to forget to set the target name when they start stacking, so SharpCap has a feature to try to help you if you do change it while stacking. ...

Re: Mount sync issue

Hi, well, I've never seen that before! Presumably it's not happening to everyone, since otherwise I would have heard about it many times over, but the question is, why is it happenign to you and no-one else? My first suggestion is going to be to update your ASCOM Platform to the very latest version ...

Re: What are LiveStack.WBB.db and LiveStack.WBR.db?

Hi, those are the values of the colour balance adjustments (on the right hand side of the live stacking area), with the values measured in decibels (dB). The values shown indicate a reduction in blue and a small increase in red compared to the defaults. You can either adjust the values by moving the...

Re: Refractor image of M38 and NGC1907

Hi, adding more contours in the elliptical/circular case was easy, so I made that change for 4.1 and it will be in the next update. I also tweaks things so that it shows 'Inverted Ellipse' where the pattern is elliptical but with the highest values (rather than the lowest) in the center. cheers, Robin

Re: Sequencer: No Alert

Hi, I kind of like the 'red alert' idea (although if your computer is outside, maybe your neighbours will like it less!). I have to admit that adding more capability to the audio playing capabilities of SharpCap isn't high on my todo list right now, especially since the current sound options work fo...

Re: Auto Debayering in PixInsight

Hi, in theory, the bayer offsets come in useful if you capture an image in ROI mode and the ROI offset from the left or the top is an odd number of pixels. If that happens then the effective bayer pattern of the image is different to that of the sensor itself. This would be something for imaging sof...

Re: help with plate solving

Hi,

good to hear that you have it all sorted now :) Plate solving makes a *big* difference to any imaging session, making so many things much easier.

clear skies!
