Re: SharpCap 3.1.4477 Blind Plate Solve bug

Ok, I think the issue here isn't the not knowing the RA/Dec, more likely it's using different options for the star detection, in particular the '--sigma' option. That will lead to (for instance) the plate solver finding less (or more) stars when used from SharpCap which impacts on solve time and fin...

Re: SharpCap Plate Solving and Planetarium Software

Hi, I think the best that you can do is use the 'Plate Solve' option from the tools menu in SharpCap 3.1 to do a blind plate solve and then put the figures from that into the planetarium program. I can't think of a way to make the idea you are describing happen with the current versions of SharpCap....

Re: Sharpcap 3.1 Beta and SX Lodestar

Hi Don,

currently you'd need to adjust colour balance in post-processing as there are no controls to adjust that in the live stacking. It's on my to-do list but didn't make it into SharpCap 3.1 - likely for SharpCap 3.2.

cheers,

Re: Sharpcap 3.1 Beta and SX Lodestar

Hi Don, yes, that's pretty much expected - the SX SDK doesn't have any facility for colour balance etc. Even the gain and black level controls that you see have been added by me in SharpCap's code. I have uploaded a new version, but having looked into your original bug, I can see that at was caused ...

Re: File name templates

I'm afraid you've found the point where file name templates aren't quite finished yet. I have written part of the code to support them in live stacking, but it is incomplete and inactive so far. I hope to complete it during the beta period.

cheers,

Re: Android version

Hi Davy,

I've got no plans for an Android version (I'd have to start over from scratch), but I believe ZWO have an Android app to talk to their cameras. Not sure how much functionality it has.

cheers,

Robin

Re: Timestamp extraction

Hi Tim, If you are using a modern operating system (Win8 onwards I think) then SharpCap uses the function GetSystemTimePreciseAsFileTime for frame timestamps, which has sub microsecond precision (but not necessarily similar accuracy). Earlier OS versions probably only have precision at the milliseco...

Re: Looking for alpha testers...

Hi Bob,

actually the first public Beta build of SharpCap 3.1 will be uploaded today - watch out for it on the SharpCap Downloads page later.

Still very keen to get feedback on the new features - looking forward to hearing from you :)

cheers,

Re: Timestamp extraction

Hi, this C# code correctly extracts the date from your data var data = new byte[] {142, 143, 242, 144, 75, 12, 213, 8}; var longData = BitConverter.ToInt64(data, 0); Console.WriteLine(new DateTime(longData)); // Result - 05/10/2017 23:48:23 I expect you have the bytes in the wrong order - you need t...
