Re: Hang on Focuser move

Ah yes, one more thing to test... try a short move (10/20/50 not 500). Some focusers have a 'max move' length which SharpCap works around by splittling a bigger move up into small steps each less than the limit - I suppose it's possible that somehow that splitting up could be causing problems and if...

Re: Sensor analysis wont finish

Oh no!

Do you have the saved SharpCap log file from the sensor analysis run? It should be found in

Code: Select all

C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\SharpCap\logs
I expect it will be quite large, so you might need to zip it up!

cheers,

Robin

Re: Hang on Focuser move

Hi, sorry to hear that this isn't working right. Very odd that everything should stop responding as modern version of Windows makes it incredibly hard to do that, although it could just be the CPU load making teamviewer die. Having looked at the code, I'm wondering about the way that SharpCap monito...

Re: Polar align cordinates

Hi, so as far as I can see there is an issue if you have already used the polar align tool then goto the settings and change them then the new values will not take until a restart - I will fix that. There is also a separate issue where you have to (at least) click on another control in the settings ...

Re: Troubleshooting drift graphs

Hi, just to explain the drift graphs - the left hand graph is showing how far offset each frame in the stack is compared to the first frame - the axis measurements are in pixels and the two axes represent X and Y offset. In the first screenshot it looks like you have had a lot of drift, in the secon...

Re: Live stacking is showing black image

Hi Paul, the manual steps for reset are... Delete all files in C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\SharpCap\CaptureProfiles This will clear all capture profiles for all cameras (including autosave). Delete the following registry keys using regedit HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AstroSharp Limited\...

Re: Lagoon Nebula in a 12" Dob

That is a super image - well done! Brian - you are working from an incorrect assumption in your calculation. It's not the aperture are that you should be comparing but the f-ratio of the two scopes. If your 71mm scope and Robrj's 12" Dob are both F5 then the photon rate at the sensor and the exposur...

Re: Flat Frames Capture - impact of Dark Frames

Thanks for the feedback - definitely a good point about the minimum exposure issues - I have seen that issue myself but had forgotten about it in the code for subtracting the bias frames :( Maybe 2 or 5x minimum exposure would be a safer bet. Hope that you continue to enjoy imaging with SharpCap. ch...

Re: Sensor Analysis for QHY168c

Hi Gene, I put out an update last night that ought to set the white balance values to 1/2 of maximum for your camera - this should let the analysis proceed and then we can compare the results to the known results for that sensor to see if we have found the neutral white balance levels or not. cheers...

Re: Live stacking is showing black image

Hi,

That's a bit odd! Try changing the stacking type from 'sigma clipping' back to default to see if that helps. Also have a look in the 'log' tab of the Live Stacking UI and the main SharpCap log to see if there are any error/warning messages that might help pin down the cause.

cheers,

Robin
