Re: Problem with refreshing the stack

Hi, If you are just watching the image on screen and you want to brighten up faint details in the image then the best bet is to use the stretch functionality built into the small histogram that you can see on the right-hand side. This gives you much more control than using the FX frame stack or FX i...

Re: Sharp Cap Brain and Sequence Generator

Hi, I think you'll find that if you try and let two different applications talk to the camera at the same time, there will probably trip over each other and cause problems. If you disconnect from the camera in SGP and then you SharpCap and then close SharpCap and then reconnect in SGP you should be ...

Re: AVI time setting

Weird, I remember writing a reply to this but I must have been distracted and never click the submit button. I tested this myself and everything seemed to be fine – the filename came from the start of the capture time. The only thing that I can think of that might alter this is if you have been adju...

Re: Stuck on page 1 - Trying to work though what's wrong..

Hi, Unfortunately your links to astrometry.net don't seem to have come out correctly :-( If you can fix the links I will have a look, otherwise tried to post the image that you uploaded to be plate solved and if possible a screenshot of SharpCap showing the polar alignment tool at the bottom when yo...

Re: And what about implementing a "shooting plan"

Hi,

I don't usually share details about all the features until we get closer to release, but in this case I can say that the next version should have the shooting plan tool and the ability to run cameras in still camera mode rather than video mode.

Re: SharpCap & PixInsight stacking

Hi,

I think I would use the fit format personally as it has the most additional information saved in the file which can be useful later. The actual data save should be the same in all three formats.

Re: Change Camera position to Polar Align

Hi Carlos, You should be able to carry on using the same procedure that you did before. After all, you've just shifted your polar alignment telescope 30 cm or so to the side, but the things it's looking at are many many light years away, so a small offset to the side makes no difference! Re: Huge AVI size!

Hi, Yes, this is how it is supposed to work. When you capture to JPEG the image is compressed to give a smaller file size but the downside of this is that some detail in the images is lost. When saving to video file formats in SharpCap like AVI, there is no compression to ensure maximum image qualit...

Re: Problem with refreshing the stack

Hi, Welcome to the forums. Are you asking about the option to 'save and reset every <X> minutes' in the live stacking?. There is currently no option to set this particular feature up in terms of the number of frames instead of the amount of time. I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by 'impro...
