Re: SharpCap Crashes with Latest iOptron Commander

Hi, It may be worth giving the very latest version a try – I have just uploaded the version that contained my changes which should at least prevent the issues that were being seen when changing resolution or connecting for the first time. In this latest version you will notice that the SharpCap UI b...

Re: Advanced saving in live stack is bugged

Hi Chuck, The extra frame was because the code was waiting until the total exposure had exceeded the threshold rather than being happy when the exposure had met or exceeded the threshold. I will change that but there may still be cases where rounding errors might mean that you get an extra frame bef...

Re: Can I define a subimage for live stacking etc?

Hi,

Yes, just the capture area control to a lower size and then you will also see a control that allows the smaller subarea to be moved around within the area of the full sensor size.

Hope this helps, Robin

Re: Can Scripting do this?

Hi, Yes, this should all be achievable. You can certainly adjust the exposure by for example code like SharpCap.SelectedCamera.Controls.Exposure.ExposureMs = 100 That will set the exposure to 100 ms. Setting up and running a capture can be implemented with code like this from SharpCap.UI import Capt...

Re: Software solution for Cone Error?

Hi, I think that if you are using an Ascom driver for your scope that can accept multiple synchronisations and build a pointing model then you will be able to correct the cone error by synchronising in a range of positions in the sky. Personally I've never tried that, but I believe EQMod and other a...

Re: How to upgrade to SharpCap Pro

Hi, There's no need to install a separate version to get SharpCap Pro features. All the pro features are built into the normal version of SharpCap, is just that you can't get at them until you have entered the licence key. Follow the steps here to enter your licence – https://store.astrosharp.co.uk/...

Re: Can I define a subimage for live stacking etc?

Hi, For most types of camera you could select a smaller capture area and then move the capture area within the full sensor area to only image a small subarea. It's possible to use this functionality with live stacking so that you would only stack a smaller area of the image. It's not possible to hav...
