ZWO ASI294MM Pro SDK Update

For those who have or are planning to purchase the new ASI294mm Pro, ZWO released an updated SDK yesterday to unlock the binning at the request of many users. Now you can use it at 2.31 um pixel size (x1 bin) in addition to the 4.63 um pixel size (now the default x2 bin) when it was initially releas...

Re: Perseus Double Cluster

Thanks for the update, Brian. Well, we have all rushed at times and failed to focus or especially refocus as needed. I am guilty of that for sure. Glad you sorted it out.

Re: Open Star Cluster M34: Colorful Stars without a Blue Filter

Hey Brian A few things hit me right away after reading your post: 1- the obvious, this is a fantastic write-up 2- the second obvious point, the color image is excellent 3- I like HOO but the beauty of this, and tricolors for that matter, is that you can combine them to whatever channel your prefer a...

Re: Open Star Cluster NGC 1664 using a Newtonian Mask

Agree- beautiful open cluster, Brian. I think I am on the fence with the diffraction pattern (twinkle stars) just like the star vs. starless-type images. I think my hesitation is that I really like one or two large stars in an image with the diffraction pattern as a nice touch but not the majority o...

Re: Silver Sliver Galaxy NGC 891

Nice, clear image- Menno. And 120s subs with no guiding. That is impressive. I can't get that on my AP1100 mount unless I build a point model.

Re: The Bubble Nebula & M52 in HOO

Thanks much for the compliment, Dave. I'm getting better with what amount of each filter works best with the particular DSO and what scope I use. Experimenting is part of the fun but having limited clear skies makes it a challenge to get it the way one hopes.

The Bubble Nebula & M52 in HOO

Probably my last image until after the upcoming storm/hurricane.

The Bubble Nebula & M52 open star cluster using the ZWO ASI294mm Pro on an 80mm APO triplet with Chroma Ha and OIII filters- only 4.4 hrs total integration.

Re: NGC 281 The Pacman Nebula in Hubble Palette

Thanks much, Nick. Yes- another hurricane  . Brian- you are correct, sir!! My error which I corrected. I simply estimated frame count based on what others have done, my estimated number of bad frames to delete, and hours I have available to image due to weather. So, I at least was a fair number...
