First Narrowband Light with the ASI294MM Pro
The ASI294MM Pro is the newest camera in the ZWO line. It has advantages over the well-established ASI1600MM Pro like no micro-lens effect from bright stars and a higher QE. However, it does produce amp glow like the 294MC so one needs to make sure you have good darks to remove it. Here is M27 in na...

Re: Cosmetic hot pixel removal in autostacks?
Hi Tim
This does not look like walking noise but I am wondering if these are what are referred to as stuck/defect pixels. Robin will know the answer. If that is the case, perhaps trying CosmeticCorrection in PI would fix it for you. Sorry I can't help further but Robin will figure it out.

Re: Cosmetic hot pixel removal in autostacks?
Hi Tim/Robin
This almost sounds like "walking noise" which usually you can get rid of by dithering. I'd also be curious to see your light frame as I had this problems some time ago but dithering cured it.

Re: ASI294MM Pro
 I think I am about to give up AP. I have had about a total of 6 hrs of good skies to image over the past 3 months . We are still in hurricane season with tons of rain with thunder and lightning storms. We are expecting at least another 10 days of this. It makes the hobby tough to enjoy after c...

Re: Short exposure F 4.2 Dobsonian pictures of M13 and M33
Tim- these are both beautiful images. The photometric color tool in PI is amazing and way better than the standard ColorCalibration tool. I reprocessed some of my older images with it about a month ago and it made a big difference. The ASI294 continues to be an excellent camera. Congrats again with ...

Re: SharpCap Still Mode
Hi Robin I moved this from another post I started (but deleted it) as I realized it would be better placed here....................... As promised, I got my hands on a SX camera and did an initial indoor test - weather too bad to try outside yet. I ran a series of dark frames and light frames and it...

Re: Concerning Exposure
I guess my point was while not a cure-all, this simple approach that PixInsight provides does help one to get an initial sense of star saturation regardless of the CCD or CMOS being used for AP. The "fixes" are many from prevention to post-image adjustments.

Re: ASI294MM Pro
Hi Robin The ZWO native driver update v3.0.0.10, was sent out 19 August and was suppose to contain 294mm Pro. A newer native driver update just came out 21 Sept which just says "fix some bugs"....... v3.0.0.11 2020.9.21 ------------------------------------- - fix some bugs v3.0.0.10 2020.8...

Re: M13 first image in a while also with DIY lifting Pier
Here is my ASI2600MC to go along with yours. I call it my: 13M of M13
because weather has been horrible here all summer and I only got 13 minutes of M13- no darks, no flats; just 30s subs.
