Alternative Plate Solver

Hi Robin,
Are there any plans to include the ability to use the ASTAP plate solver in Sharpcap as it appears to be getting a lot of good reviews in terms of the speed of solving, I have tried it via NINA and it is quick.

Re: S Curve for Image Adjustment

Hi Robin, Thanks for the response it would be a nice to have in my case as I am monochrome at the moment so process the actual colour image outside of SharpCap. But if the QHY268C or similar ever actually becomes available to purchase then I am considering a colour camera as well in which case it wo...

Nice shots Wikkett, how did the dither work for you as I saw the post from Robin with the change but have not had a chance to try it yet as I have never dithered at present due to the time loss associated with it. But will give it a go next time we get a clear sky.

Re: NGC6992 Eastern Veil Ha/Oiii/Sii

Hi Bruce, I am probably not going to be much help as I am not using a USB hub as I have an Eagle2 Pro on the scope that is running everything and I just remote in either by Wi-Fi or by LAN depending on whether I am at home in the observatory (LAN), or away from home Wi-Fi Power and everything else c...

S Curve for Image Adjustment

Hi Robin, At the moment on the auto adjust for the image we have black / mid / white points for the curve would it be possible to introduce an extra point along the graph to allow the curve to be slightly S shaped. When imaging I tend to use the auto button then push the mid point slightly more towa...

Re: NGC6992 Eastern Veil Ha/Oiii/Sii

Hi Dave it was not very scientific I planned to do 90 minutes on each and then stack the best 70 - 75% but we started a bit late and I never looked at when it would get low to the west hence the shorter SII period. The 180s come from the fact that I like to use the average filter rather than median ...

NGC6992 Eastern Veil Ha/Oiii/Sii

Had chance to get the scope out last night for an imaging session started a bit late so did not collect much Sii on the target as it had gotten a little low in the sky but managed a reasonable amount on Ha and Oiii. The image below is comprised of the best 70% of subs captured. Equipment Avalon M-UN...
