Stacking and hot pixels
Hi Robin, I have a question about live stacking and sigma rejection. I am currently using a sigma of 2 with very low threshold. My frame count is set to 10 and I dither 10 pixels with my asi071 mc pro. PhD2 is set to dither in spiral. What I am seeing is my dark doesn’t remove two strong hot pixels....

Re: Drift graph question
I haven’t tested for cone error, but could cone error cause these issues?

Re: Drift graph question
Hi Robin, I have had a chance to tun some further testing. I have changed from a CGX mount to a CEM60EC since my previous post. I imaged with 30s subs for 15 minutes with guiding off. The drift graph looked remarkably similar to what I posted with the CGX (no rotation, but a slow and steady drift to...

Re: Drift graph question
My question centers about what I’m observing in the drift graphs and posts such as this: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/648273-in-phd2-does-the-guide-scope-need-to-be-exactly-aligned-with-the-imaging-scope/ If sharpcap calculates polar alignment errors observed in the guide scope and I make alt/...

Re: Drift graph question
Thanks Robin, Do you see the graph drift like that when polar alignment is off? What is a reasonable amount of drift and rotation with very good to excellent polar alignment? From what I have read, if polar alignment is off even by a small amount and the main ota and guide scope are not perfectly al...

Drift graph question
Hello all, I have a question about the drift graphs the other night. I am using an 8” edge and Sv80st piggyback for guiding (oag issues lately so switch to 80mm for now). I was guiding 30s subs with very good PA according to PhD2. Images were excellent with round stars, though I started to see pixel...

Re: Cannot save individual frames as .fits
Hi Robin,
I know there is the capture profiles, but I was wondering if this will also save the global Sharpcap preferences as well.

Re: Cannot save individual frames as .fits
Sorry for the delay Robibn. I was away for a bit. I'm using the most recent beta. What I noticed was that if the program was closed while the camera (ASI294MCP) and the usb3 external (Seagate 1TB) drive were attached, and Sharpcap reopened with no usb devices plugged in, not all settings were saved....

Re: Cannot save individual frames as .fits
Thanks for the replies. Robin, I do have that setting enabled and so if I capture a series or just a snapshot, the file is .fits. The issue only occurs when I live stack. If I select save individual frames, those frames within the stack are .png. If I click save as and save the raw, the stacked imag...
