Sharpcap Pro License
I've just purchased the Pro licence and as instructed, pasted the license text sent by email to confirm the purchase, into the Help-Sharpcap Pro License window. After doing this there is no discernible difference that the said license has been applied and the Tools, such as Polar Align (which is the...

Polar alignment with Lodestar x2 mono guide camera
I'm planning to use Sharpcap mainly for Polar alignment using a Starlight Express Lodestar X2 mono guide camera, combined with a William Optics 200mm FL x 50mm guide scope, which I calculate provides a FOV of 1.85 x 1.38 degrees. I've been using this set-up successfully with PHD2 for sometime. Given...

Re: Lodestar non square pixels
I'm interested to know what the outcome of this was, as I'm looking to use Sharpcap for Polar Alignment with a Lodestar X2 mono camera. From what I can see the FOV meets the Sharpcap requirements and it works fine with PHD2 using 8.3nm, as the pixel size at 8.6 x 8.3 nm is not square. Furthermore, I...

Re: Download and Licence Use
Point taken but I'm pretty sure that's not what's going on here as I've disabled such updates - this laptop is dedicated to astrophotography and I don't want update interruptions in the middle of imaging. This is my first installation of Sharpcap but a little worried about this experience.

Re: Download and Licence Use
I'm using Windows 7 with Service Pack-1 and no problems with other software - recent updates of stuff like PHD2 went OK in a couple of minutes. Downloaded the current version of Sharpcap 3.2.5990.0 but on installation last night it just hung for more than 5 mins on a number of occasions and I had to...

Download and Licence Use
After hanging around here for a while I'm now about to make a start with Sharpcap, in particular hoping the Polar Alignment facility will help with my long standing nemesis! These questions might be in the website but can't find them: 1. Do I download the basic version v 3.2 first and then upgrade t...

Re: PA and Polaris
Thanks Robin, thought as much - pity as I hear such good things about the SharpCap PA.

PA and Polaris
Unfortunately I have no view of the north sky and therefore Polaris from my astronomy location - my house is in the way! Does the PA function in SharpCap need to see this part of the sky for alignment, or will it work looking south too?
Thanks, Graham
