I was amazed at how much processing that took to get that level of detail - at least 3 iterations (something not mentioned in any tutorials or book on PI) of Pixinsight Colour Saturation tool - just shows I need more data.

I'm only really just getting into DSO after dabbling for a year or so. There is a lot to learn - I find it much more difficult than planetary/lunar/solar work - so much time to get enough data - a whole evening or more. And I know - a) still not enough data and b) lots to learn in using PixInsight T...

That problem is typically because Sharpcap can't find your plate solving software. I'm assuming you have downladed and installed it? Yu can tell Sharpcap where to find the plate solving software in the settings tab/menus.
