Re: Quick question on plate solving

That problem is typically because Sharpcap can't find your plate solving software. I'm assuming you have downladed and installed it? Yu can tell Sharpcap where to find the plate solving software in the settings tab/menus.

Saving the camera settings in livestacking

I now typically use livestacking and its ability to save individual raw frames as my preferred way of capturing DSOs, rather than using capture sequencing - this way I get to see what I'm pointing at :-) Is there any chance you can save the equivalent of the camerasetting.txt file that you get in se...

Re: Can I run SharpCap in windows 10 home

I run my observatory software -Sharpcap, Cart du Ciel, virtual Moon atlas all on a Lenovo X230 - which I think is lower powered than your 330. SC livestack works perfectly well with my ASI 1600 (my usual exposures are between 4 and 32 seconds)- just make sure you have at least 4Gb of memory - mine h...

Re: Alternative planetary scopes than SCT

How about an RC like this:-

I'm in a similar boat as I'm thinking of replacing my aging C11 either with a C14 or an RC - haven't been able to find much of a comparison between the types.

Re: Live Stack: lot of Frames Ignored

another thought - the C8 @f/10 has quite a narrow field of view and Sharpcap may not be finding enough stars in order to stack properly. Maybe need to play with the # of stars and other factors that could affect how many stars can be seen - maybe increase exposure & gain. I get a similar problem wit...

What version? I believe that they just released a 64-bit version.
Don't think so - latest I know of is v6.1.0.8 circa 2012 - were you thinking of DSS?

Re: registax

What size are your image files - and how many are you trying to stack. Registax is quite old software now and struggles with modern camera file sizes

Re: grid on avi

One other possibility may be to capture in RGB24 mode? The files will be x3 larger, but there should be no need to debayer the avi>
