Re: LiveStack histogram
Jim, I'm transitioning from my 8" Goto Alt-Az Evolution to the 9.25 EDGE HD on a CGEMII. I have a lot to learn. That image was only aligned with StarSense on the 8"/CGEMII. I'll PA net time to get rid of the black line. I can't always PA due to LP and lack of stars. I haven't used my LP fi...

Re: Image cuts-off at top while Live Stacking
Thanks Dave,
I do try to slightly weight to the correct imaging side.
I will do more testing on it as you suggested.

Re: Flip tool and Dark temperature
Dave,
I was hoping the Flip tool was applied after the image was captured.
Thank you for the explanation.

LiveStack histogram
Robin, I will PA and get rid of the black screen on top of the image. ZWO183 non cooled camera, 8" SCT/.63 reducer on a CGEMII in Bortle 8 downtown Chicago. I'm at 300 Gain, 5 sec EXP. Flats and Darks applied. I Save Images as seen. Looking at my Histogram, what are your suggestions to improve ...

Flip tool and Dark temperature
Robin/Dave. I do my Flats and Darks with my non-cooled ZWO183 color camera prior to imaging and apply in the bottom right. Then Save Images as seen. Can I change the FLIP tool on the right panel from target to target with the same Flats/Darks or does this screw them up? I'm acquiring my Flats/Darks ...

Re: Image cuts-off at top while Live Stacking
Live Stacking. I do not guide. I don't know what dithering is?
Is it because I'm not polar aligned?
I'm only doing 5secs/frame. Would increasing that time help?
What can I do to stop the "simply drift effect"?
Thanks

Image cuts-off at top while Live Stacking
I have an 8" SCT on a CGEMII. Live stacking, 5sec/frame with Flats and Darks applied. I roughly polar align the mount (due to living downtown Chicago and very few stars) and GoTo aligned with StarSense. In the attached pic you can see the image cutting off at the top during LiveStacking and eve...

Re: Capturing Flats
Robin, Your advice on Darks and Flats have increase the quality of my images tremendously! f/u question: I image DSO’s at 250 Gain. Is it best for Flats to have the same Gain as my lights? When making Flats, I’m keeping the same Gain and lowering the EXP to get the histogram close to the right side....
