Re: Confused about mount control
Thank you Menno! I did know about the skywatcher app, just didn't realize it could be used in conjunction with sharpcap - this will help a lot.

Confused about mount control
Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to using the mount control features in sharpcap. I did a search for "GOTO" in the forums but found no matches. My questions are as follows: 1) Does SharpCap initiate goto commands to my mount once it is connected? I have confirmed that my EQ6-R Pro is connect...

Re: Field of view for plate solving
Hi Robin,
Thank you for replying. I did realize that about plate solving for my main imaging scope. The finder and the main scope are very well aligned using crosshairs - Will it be good enough? I will try and let you know!
thanks again,
patrick

Field of view for plate solving
Hi, I've looked around in the forum here and have found some posts that seem to deal with my question, but I'm still confused. I am trying to learn about plate solving for both polar alignment and GOTO alignment. My main imaging scope is an Edge HD 8 inch with the .7 reducer which yields a focal len...

Tutorial for newcomer to connect and control a mount
Hello everyone, I'm new to the concept of connecting and controlling a mount with a PC and I was wondering if there was a tutorial available showing step by step how to do this? I have a skywatcher EQ6-R mount and a dell windows 10 laptop and would be connecting through the HC using a USB mini cable...

Any issues using a color camera for polar alignment?
Hi Everyone, I know that monochrome cameras are more sensitive than color ones, but I already have a zwo asi385mc and was wondering of there would be any issues using that for the polar alignment/plate solving in sharpcap? The guide scope I would be using is 50mm with a f/l of 190mm. According to as...

Live Stacking vs the option to frame stack 3/5/10 frames
Newbie question - when I am live stacking, I don't see much change in the image as the stacking progresses. However, if I choose the frame stack option from the FX drop down menu, I see huge changes in the images after apply that. Why is there such a difference in the one vs the other?
thanks

Exposure times & field rotation considerations Alt-Az mount
Hi All,
What is the longest exposure I can take using an alt az driven mount? also, I've been told that I can only take and stack so many exposures before field rotation will become a problem - what is that limit?
thanks
Patrick
