Re: Fast exposure / fps capture over gigabit possible?

USB-3 extension cables mentioned by turfpit in 2020 have decreased in price in 2024. I tested the deleyCON 10m active USB 3.2 extension https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0BMGSN7JS/ with the uncooled ASI432mm and ASI533mm cameras and was able to achieve the full 120 fps rate for the ASI432mm with ful...

Re: asi294mm fits header bug affects ASTAP plate solving

Hi Robin.
I think you introduced the checkbox to ignore 47 MP mode in response to my request for custom resolution areas (regions of interest) in 11 MP mode.
Cheers Alan

Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

OK Robin, I understand that. I'm very happy that hardware binning can now be set up easily.
Thanks again. Alan

Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

Thanks for the quick work Robin. I'm now testing your new beta version 4.1.10172.0-64bit 1) With Hardware Binning OFF soft constriants are X/8 & Y/2 (bin=2), X/24 & Y/6 (bin=3), X/8 & Y/4 (bin=4) 2) With Hardware Binning ON hard constriants are X/16 & Y/4 (bin=2), X/24 & Y/6 (bin...

Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

Thanks Robin. Since your post I edited mine to add that x4 hardware binning works for some ROI despite it not being mentioned in the manual. And yes, no problems with any ROI for software binning, so you only need to check if hardware binning is enabled.
Cheers, Alan.

Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

For x3 hardware binning, SC's rule that X must be a multiple of 24 and Y a multiple of 6 seems correct so these all work for both x2 and x3 hardware binning, with the expected download speed increase of x4 or x9 confirmed. The latter two also work for x4 hardware binning, but download speeds aren't ...

Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

Ha! The manual says hardware binning is available for x2 and x3 but doesn't mention x4. It is also 12-bit. The ASI6200 camera has a built-in 16-bit ADC. 12bit ADC mode for output will be used when we do hardware Bin. The ASI6200 camera supports bin2, bin3, bin4 software Binning mode and hardware bin...

Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

Returning to x2 hardware binning, it seems necessary but not sufficient for X to be divisible by 16. For example, an ROI of 4784x6388 can be x2 hardware binned, but other default ROIs such as 4784x4790 crash. So it also depends on Y, which I guess must be divisible by 4, since 2392x1596 can be x2 ha...

Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

Thanks Robin. So the rule is that the X of the binned image must be divisible by 8 ? It would be good to define a set of ROI that allow x4 binning as well as x2. The first would be 9568x6388 instead of 9576x6388, which would give 4784x3194 with x2 binning and 2392x1597 with x4 binning. Another of in...

Re: ASI6200MM-Pro Hardware Binning ?

That seems to be it Robin, for 4.0.9538.0-64bit 1) All software binnings work i.e. x2 x3 x4 for all ROI with no increase in frame rate 2) Hardware x2 binning works if X pixels is divisible by 16 eg X=7984 with frame rate increasing from 0.6 to 2.6 with a USB2 cable (but other binnings crash) 3) All ...
