Re: Ascom driver for Nikon & Canon cameras

As an FYI Downloaded the new DSLR ASCOM this morning as well as the latest V3.2. I'm using a Canon T2i and once I connect it starts taking preview pictures and doesn't stop. I can have SC3.2 take a series of images that are saved, but after the series the preview pictures continue until I turn off t...

Smart Histogram/Brain and Apply

I see where clicking "Apply" sets my exposure and gain but I don't see anywhere that the recommended number of exposures is set. I see that as being a good option. To do that I now go to the Live Stack screen and wait until I get the suggested number of frames but I may be missing somethin...

Re: Scope control???

Have you selected a mount under File/SharpCap Settings and the Hardware tab? If you are also going to be using Stellarium Scope you'll probably need to use Generic Hub with both Stellarium Scope and SharpCap.

Once you connect to your camera the Scope Controls should be available.

Re: Video and Sound?

I know about the time stamping but the International Occultation Timing Association (IOTA) would like GPS or WWV time. From their website: "The best method of establishing time on the video is with a GPS based time inserter which inserts the time on each frame of the video. In lieu of GPS time ...

Video and Sound?

There is going to be a lunar graze visible from here next week (Theta 2 Tau on 9/12). I thought it might be fun to try to record it. I'd like to record the WWV signal from a SW radio at the same time so I know when the actual events occur. I'm good with recording the video part of the process with S...

Before I send the transaction number I'd like to ask if it should go to Admin and if you are the only person that can read the Admin email.

Solving with smaller than recommended field

There is a thread on CloudyNights where a guy is trying to do a SharpCap polar alignment with a FOV much smaller than recommended: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/583992-sharpcap-issues-430mm-fl-and-qhy5lii/?hl=%2Bsharpcap#entry7988747 He gets a successful first solve, but after the second the ci...

Loading an image for testing

I just noticed that SharpCap names fits files .fits. I have other applications that call them .fit. When trying to load one from another application for testing purposes SharpCap doesn't "find" them. Can you add ".fit" to the list of image file extensions to look for?
