Re: Computer for ZWO ASI294
Hi PoppyG I've tried some very underpowered intel Atom based compute sticks to run SharpCap. The experience is less than ideal. You can get away with lower power equipment like your Celeron 1.8 GHz CPU for basic capturing frames from a camera and some other SC features like polar alignment. Your Cel...

Re: Help with Egg shaped stars
Hi,
This looks like mount / tracking problem as the oblong is in the same direction all over the frame. If this was an optical issue the oblong stars usually tend to be at the edges of the frame and point towards the center. Are you using guiding?

Re: Problems with Dark/Flat correction during livestacking in SC3.3?
Hi, I haven't spent much time in SC 3.3 but have a lot experience with flats, darks, live stacking and ASI294 in SC 3.2.xxxx. What I've found is any changes to the SDK for ZWO cameras can have unexpected results with SharpCap live stacking when using dark and flat calibration frames. For flats make ...

Hi Astro, First make sure you have the latest drivers and BIOS from Dell. There's Dell software the will check your system and download the latest from Dell's site. Check for software in Dell directory on the start menu. If the software finds BIOS update click the link to external website to down lo...

Re: Capture status bar missing
Hi John
Check your exposure time. For very short exposures the progress bar goes away.

Re: Prime back focus lengths question...
Hi Here's a good video about focus and back focus. https://youtu.be/HndMaPsH85I I struggled with this subject for a long time. First thing to understand is everything in the optical light path of your telescope will affect focus. When you see back focus mentioned in a camera's spec sheet this usuall...

Re: Mosaics from Live Stack
Thanks Dave! Forgot to mention I used EQMOSAIC http://eq-mod.sourceforge.net/mosaic/ a long with Stellarium oculars plugin. This allows planning and sending goto commands to the mount with the desired amount of overlap percentage for the individual panels. EQMOSAIC is a stand alone app that does not...

Mosaics from Live Stack
Hi All It's been a while since I've posted anything. I've had a long string of bad weather and good weather when I couldn't take advantage of it. I recently had an unprecedent 5 clear nights in a row from 11-16 through 11-21. I was able to capture over 50 objects via Live stacking. To see all the im...
