Re: Deep Sky Image Annotation slightly off

Hi Robin, I ran platesolve and annotate in PixInsight. For plate solving I used Gaia3, and for annotation "Named Stars" (white), "Tycho2" (green), Hipparcos" (red) and "UCAC3" (blue), all data comes from VizieR. Unfortunately Altair seems to be not in Tycho2 and UC...

Re: Deep Sky Image Annotation slightly off

Hi Robin, the co-ordinates of Altair were pretty much the first thing that I checked - the ones SharpCap uses are RA=19.846388 Dec=8.868322 These checked out to within an arc second or less with the ones published on Wikipedia, so I assumed they were good. I double checked with SIMBAD, and there the...

Re: Deep Sky Image Annotation slightly off

Hi Robin, thanks for your message, but I would rule out all the reasons you mentioned below. Hi, there are a few reasons this can be slightly off... One is a mismatch between J2000 and JNOW, but that would be constant for all stars in the same part of the sky. Indeed, this would also be my understan...

Deep Sky Image Annotation slightly off

Hello all, when using the absolutely cool feature Deep Sky Image Annotation I have run into a weird phenomenon: When annotating stars, the the annotation is sometimes spot on, sometimes significantly off. See images below (zoomed in): Adulfin's annotation marker is spot on SpotOn.jpg While for Altai...

Re: Occultation event from OccultWatcher to SharpCap and more ...

Hi Jean-Francois,

great idea, thank you very much for this script.

I only wonder where I can find the latest version of the scrip.
Here, or in this other thread: viewtopic.php?p=35788
I want to make sure that I get the latest one.

Thanks
Stefan

Re: QHY268C - Always buffers 3 frames

Hi Robin, I also experience this problem quite regularly. This is quite painful, as whenever I change parameters of the camera then this behavior starts over again. Each time I have to wait for several frames until I see an image. This is particularly annoying for longer exposures (e.g. having to wa...

Re: New Feature : Deep Sky Image Annotation

Hi Christian,

I already tried this, but the link there is broken.
I will contact Hristo.

Thanks
Stefan

Sorry others for the slightly deviating discussion on OccultWatcher, but still related to Deep Sky Image Annotation...

Re: New Feature : Deep Sky Image Annotation

Hi Christian,

I am on V5.0.0.5, but I do not see that "OW little helpers" plugin, unfortunately.
Where can I get it?

Re: New Feature : Deep Sky Image Annotation

Hello Christian, After some investigation I found that our community tool "OccultWatcher" can provide RA/DEC to the clipboard (with one mouse click only); the example here has no relation to the above can you tell me where I have to click in OcculWatcher? I can't find it... Thanks! Stefan

Re: New Feature : Deep Sky Image Annotation

Hi Robin,
absolutely great!

@Christian: About OccultWatcher or a plug-in for it to create a CSV file.
Are you in contact with Hristo, or shall I drop him an email?
