Re: HDR Stacking

I use an ASI294 and a few others. I imagine SharpCap was really originally designed for DSLR type cameras and longer term exposures than the 40 second max needed for EAA type cameras? If I wanted to get the faintest detail out of, say, M81, I'd have to expose it for, say, 90 seconds, but if I did th...

HDR Stacking

This is only a dream of mine, and I don't expect it to happen, but I'll post anyway. I'm not sure I'm correct in the lingo with respect to HDR, but I'll try to briefly explain. Miloslick is camera capture software exclusive to Mallincam's CCD cameras. The guy who does that promised a version for CMO...

Re: Night Mode Wishes

OK, Robin. Thanks for looking into it. I've come up with a couple physical solutions that actually get the job done well enough.

Re: Night Mode Wishes

That would put some finishing touches on the SharpCap for me. I LOVE this program!

Night Mode Wishes

Greetings. I put the SharpCap feed into into a 40" plasma TV, and look at everything live. Captures are OK, but it's all about live for me. So everything is about having no light anywhere in the view but for the objects. In night mode, if you go full screen while live stacking, and then unpin the li...

SharpCap Closes Itself On Minimizing

Not much to tell here. On my fully updated i7 Windows 10 laptop, SharpCap closes upon minimizing. Here's the weird part: it only does it in night vision colors mode.

I thought I'd report this, but it doesn't matter to me. I just won't minimize.

Re: Runaway Exposure

That worked. I suppose that could remain as an easy workaround for me whenever (or if ever) it decides to do that again. I'm about half-way through the manual, so I have to admit to not having seen that.

Thanks so much,

Re: Runaway Exposure

I'd never saved a profile, and none was automatically saved. There weren't any to delete. Maybe this will help with troubleshooting. I opened Sharpcap just now to check the Manage Profile function, and the frame picked up at 31 seconds, which is where it was when I closed the program yesterday. I wo...

Re: Runaway Exposure

OK, but FYI, it's never not doing it now. It worked great for several hours, and then just abruptly started doing it. So, simply opening the program starts the runaway exposure, and nothing I do stops it. As an example, I'll start a 4 second exposure. It will count up/down to the 4 seconds, and then...

Runaway Exposure

Greetings. I installed Sharpcap recently, got into the manual, started the software, got to know it a little. It's all simple and straightforward. I tested a lot of exposure lengths, nothing over 35 seconds, took snaps, tested .fit stacks, etc. I'm using a Mallincam Skyraider with ASCOM. It was all ...
