Re: Is there a way to filter out frames with tracking errors
Sorry it took so long Robin. Below is a link to an example. The focus is poor but it illustrates the problem. For the frames with bad tracking it will calculate a FWHM smaller than the other frames and will stack that bad ones that it finds enough stars. To live stack you will need to increase digit...

Re: Is there a way to filter out frames with tracking errors
Thanks Robin that would be a useful feature. We save our frames for replay at outreach on cloudy nights. I am sure we have some saved with streaking stars. I will gather some sample frames and get them to you next time I am out at my club's observatory.

Is there a way to filter out frames with tracking errors
Our club is doing EAA on an old Equatorial fork mount that holds a large 18 inch newt. It does well for the most part but occasionally has a tracking glitch that results in a frame with streaked stars. The FWHM filter does not filter these out as the stars prior to the glitch are bright enough to al...

Question about our Club's Pro license
Hello Robin, My astronomy club recently purchased the Pro license for use in our club's observatory. We do viewings for the public and have been closed since COVID started but plan to reopen using EAA instead of viewing through the eyepiece. Your license FAQ states that the license can be "inst...

Re: Flats and mottling pattern in final stacked image
I believe it is an inherent issue with that sensor Robin. It was designed as a low light sensor and does not react well to the bright light of flats with short exposures. Lots of issues reported on Cloudy Nights taking flats with that sensor, both the QHY and ZWO models. ZWO markets it more as an EA...

Re: Flats and mottling pattern in final stacked image
I was running into this issue and a friend pointed me to this thread. 200 gain flats look promising but I still noticed a bit of mottling in the flat. I have also found that longer flat exposures also seem to reduce mottling. A 200 gain flat at 2 seconds looks indistinguishable from a zero gain flat...

Re: Sensor Analysis ASI294c, e/ADU does not look right
Yeah that was it. Had some trouble running the sensor analysis. I had to run it with my flat panel at full brightness even though it said it was dangerously close to the minimum exposure, but if I dimmed it seemed to get in an infinite loop when doing the last run of the analysis where I have to put...

Re: Sensor Analysis ASI294c, e/ADU does not look right
I will give that a try. After posting I realized there was a new version and was headed in that direction. Thanks for your explanation.

Sensor Analysis ASI294c, e/ADU does not look right
I ran a sensor analysis on my ASI294c and got the following results. The read noise, full well and dynamic range match up reasonably well with the charts on the ZWO site for this camera but the e/ADU does not. I am reading something wrong. Unity gain should be at 117. I am running version 3.1.5220.0...
