Hi, something as simple as a loose (hanging) USB cable can cause the SharpCap PA routine to be somewhat off because the weight of the cable can cause the camera to move slightly as you rotate the telescope. I'm glad to report that SC is acquiring images again. I reset everything in the camera control back to defaults and that seemed to do the trick.....thank you for all your help. Perhaps you can address another thing that I have experienced since using SC. I use SC primarily for fine tuning the PA.......

Can you give a reason why SC would just decide to stop looping images....it failed to loop again last night. I have been using SC just for fine tuning PA......the exposures don't countdown anymore in the lower right-hand corner after I select the PA tool.

I'm too new to interpret that link very well. The version I am currently using (the free one is 3.1.5143) was detecting the GPCam just fine the night before I discovered it was failing to detect it. I'm currently downloading 3.1.5193 and will give it a try.

I use the camera successfully in PHD2 when guiding.....so in my view, the camera is working fine. For some reason it is no longer acquiring images in SC.

Its a Altair GPCam2 130M Pretty new here so not sure where to find the logs....I never had a session last night with SharpCap because the cam was not providing any images, so would there even be one? I'm having trouble getting image from the guide cam when trying to polar align.....if I switch to PHD2, the guide cam is providing an image, so I feel it's not the cam. The thing is, I used it last night just fine....so something has gone wrong. Any help?

That's a very good point about the grass....I am on grass but on a doubled over tarp but the mount was standing firm. Thanks for the info on cone error...I will check into that and how to improve upon it.
