Re: Difficulties with Sequencer

Tonight I had a chance to test the sequence planner wizard again. This time I tried saving the config file and loading it again later. When I tried to load it I got a pop-up error window: "The sequence plan could not be loaded. The details of the error were: Could not parse unexpected content w...

Re: Difficulties with Sequencer

Sorry for late reply (weather not clear lately, not doing AP last week).

Yes I'm always using the same cameras for my AP.

Re: Difficulties with Sequencer

Robin, I'm sorry to report that I encountered the same problems again with the Sequencer Planner (wizard) tool. I think the sequencer Editor works fine but I'm still putting it through it's paces. The Sequencer Planner wizard continues to revert to settings not set in the wizard. I could not get it ...

Re: Plate solve troubles

Hello again!

The name of the mount for "Select Hardware" in SharpCap is "EQMOD ASCOM HEQ5/6".

The mount is an Orion Atlas Pro. The software I use to point the scope is TheSkyX.

Re: Plate solve troubles

There is an ASCOM window that pops up with either SkyX or with your software, but unless I have the mount hooked up I can't pull details from that window. Looking on the harddrive, there's an "ASCOM Diagnostics" program that says "ASCOM Platform 6.3-6.3.0.2821". I will see if the...

Re: Plate solve troubles

Robin, Thanks again for information. I finally had a night to test things out again. For some reason, tonight even though SharpCap said it was successful with plate solve, the coordinates were far off. Not sure what happened. I looked at the log file like you mentioned, and I could not see any entry...

Re: Plate solve troubles

Robin, I had success with plate solving tonight! I installed the ANSVR software/database since I last tried this. I switched the setting on SharpCap "prefer to use" to "Astrotortilla/ANSVR/ASPS" from "ASTAP". On my first try this also did not work. I tried a different p...

Re: The SharpCap Deep Sky Sequence Planner

Yes, I was kind of foreseeing something like a pixel offset index, and then maybe just do a pattern like a square, or whatever PhD does. I suppose when using the sequencer I could also do it manually by inserting a delay somewhere, then doing my dither, then telling sharpcap to resume. (I'd have to ...

Re: Difficulties with Sequencer

Hi again Robin. First -- many thanks for new update! I just ran the sequencer again on my camera (the ZWO ASI-294) and it seems you fixed the bugs! The sequencer wizard options "stuck" this time and wrote to the file! Wow, this is true customer support! I will hopefully test it "in th...

Re: Difficulties with Sequencer

Robin, I upgraded to 3.3.7351 as mentioned and the problems persist. When I bring up the "Deep Sky Sequence Planner" tool, several of the settings do not "stick" when I click on the "run" button. In my case, I never shoot PNG files, always FITS, and I specified FITS in ...
