Re: Pixel Streaks - What's Causing Them?

Ok, thanks. Still, I'm going to change my settings so that my darks are saved as .png files again and see if the issue goes away.

Re: Pixel Streaks - What's Causing Them?

Hi Robin, The darks were taken at a different time than the lights, but in both cases the camera was being cooled to -10C. The file name for the darks indicates a temperature of -9.4C and the file containing the capture info for the lights indicates -10C, so very little difference. What about the .f...

Pixel Streaks - What's Causing Them?

Polar Alignment - Camera Orientation?

I've just implemented a Guide Scope to my imaging setup but the mount arm for it is NOT directly on top of the scope, but rather about 15 degrees to the right of vertical. To use the SharpCap Polar Alignment tool, how should the camera sensor be oriented into the guide scope? Should the camera senso...

Re: Live Stack with Flat Frame Bug?

Thanks BlackWikkett, more great info!

- After you've finished capturing all of your frames, which "Save" option are you using, and what format (FITS, etc) are your saved files?
- What is your method for doing the White Balance in Photoshop?

Re: Live Stack with Flat Frame Bug?

Hi Robin, My camera is the ZWO ASI294MC. Given that, what do you recommend that I do? 1. Initial Camera Settings - After selecting my desired Gain, Exposure, and Brightness, should I a) Adjust the Camera Image Control White Balance Red and Blue sliders to align the red, blue, green, white histograms...

Re: Does "Flip" Matter for Dark Frames?

Thanks Robin and Dave. I tried to do a meridian flip while live stacking a few nights ago and failed but for a different reason. I did a "Save as 16 bit stack" and then paused the live stacking, moved the mount to the other side, and then changed the gain to maximum and shortened the exposure to abo...

Does "Flip" Matter for Dark Frames?

When creating a Dark Frame library, do you need to generate a set for each "Flip" camera setting that you intend to use for the camera? If doing a capture sequence that involves a Meridian flip, you have to flip the camera view as part of that. Can the same Dark Master that was used prior to the fli...
