Darks and hot pixels

Hi Robin, I love the new sequencer and the first thing I tried to do was use it to create a set of darks for a range of exposures, but...(sad face). Can you please include a sequence step for darks. Us EAA guys typically use a range of exposure intervals during a session and darks are essential to m...

Re: Improvements to Polar Alignment

Hi Robin. Regarding polar alignment, are you aware that here in the southern hemisphere at least, that when the screen says to move left, that we have to actually pivot to the right? And vice-versa when prompted to move right I have to pivot to the left. In my use case I'm sitting behind my AZEQ6 lo...

Re: LiveStack histogram

Aren't we a picky bunch, always wanting more, and I'm as guilty as the next. What would Mr Hubble think if he saw what we can do now :) Greg yes use Robin's suggestion of the smart histogram function. It's fantastic. You seem to be doing very well for your conditions and 5 second exposures. Are you ...

Re: Undo last stack

As suggested, I'm assuming you'd want to do this to remove bad subs. Also you don't say whether your use case is EAA or acquisition for later processing. For the latter, you just need to tick the box to save every image and manually sort through the set during processing. For EAA, yes it can be anno...

Re: Too much red with AWB in Live Stack

Hi, I've also seen the over-red issue discussed here, and at times over-blue. In fact if I live-stack "Test Camera 1(deep sky)" which shows the Orion Nebula and click "Auto colour balance from histogram peaks", then I get excessive over-blue and under-red at the same time. Not su...

Capture darks batch creation

Hi, I'd like to request a feature in the "Capture Dark" dialog that enables you to create multiple sets of darks in the one process. I find that when doing EAA on various targets in the one night that I often use different exposure lengths. For me it's typically 4s, 8s, 15s, and 30s. I ima...

Re: DSLR functionality

Hi Robin, Regarding the file monitoring idea, I'm a programmer by day and have written my own FileMover forms app (C#) to monitor a folder on a ComputeStick on the mount and move it's files to a folder on the laptop. Concept is basic but there were some gotchas. I'm monitoring using the FileSystemWa...

Re: DSLR functionality

I have a Sony a6000, and I'd be reasonably happy if I was able to acquire the raw files using other software such as Sony's intervalometer and drop them into a monitored SharpCap folder, at which point SharpCap could them add them to the stack as they came in. AstroToaster does this, but I want to u...
