Re: ZWO ASI178MM Sensor analysis.
Thanks Robin, once again. I'll keep your reply for future reference. Pondering this, I suddenly thought of the Quantum Mechanic's Double slit experiment, where light can behave as either a particle or a wave depending on whether or not it is being observed. So I started the run again, and went downs...

Re: ZWO ASI178MM Sensor analysis.
Hi Björn, That's exactly what I have been doing, I have a flat-screen panel that I use for taking flats. When I start the sensor analysis it tells me too bright/dim and I adjust the lighting until the process starts, it then runs for a few minutes quite happily until it gets to a point where it says...

ZWO ASI178MM Sensor analysis.
Hi, I have been trying to run a sensor analysis on my 178MM for a while now, and despite altering the brightness to suit the beginning of the process, towards the end it tells me to reduce the brightness because the minimum exposure has been reached. I have tried several methods of uniform lighting ...

ZWO ASI178MM
Does anyone use Sharpcap with the above camera? If so, what are the optimum gain/exposure settings for LRGB and NB imaging? This camera seems a little unusual in that it doesn't have a Unity gain, and in Sharpcap there does not seem to be an option for setting offset.
Thanks,
Neil.
Thanks,
Neil.

Re: MT9M034 not being recognised
Yup, 3.0 works. I also had to drop PHD2 down a couple of levels to get that working.
Thanks again,
Neil.

MT9M034 not being recognised
Hello All, I have recently acquired a GPCAM MT9M034M that I cannot get to be recognised by either PHD2 nor Altair Capture. The only way I can get an image is by using the DirectShow option in Sharpcap, choosing DirectShow Cameras->AltairCam. My other two GPCAMs work fine, these are the AR0130M and t...

Re: Testing plate-solving
Ok, I can load an image I have taken, and "All Sky Plate Solver" will solve it as being NGC6826, giving the RA and Dec as shown. All Sky Plate Solver.JPG Using the SharpCap I load the same image using Test Camera 1 (Deep Sky), then I slew the Simulated scope to near enough the same RA and ...

Testing plate-solving
Hi, I am dipping my toes into plate-solving using Sharpcap and the EQASCOM simulated mount (Currently downloading 20Gb of index files!). In order to test the system off-line, is it possible to load up an image to platesolve via the Sharpcap app instead of expecting Sharpcap to take a live image? I'm...

+1 for this, I have asked about defaults for this camera elsewhere.
