Re: Mele Quieter 4C and Planetary Imaging?

Hey Robin, it would be a ZWO ASI533mc for EAA / Stacking and a ASI678mc for planetary imaging.

Mele Quieter 4C and Planetary Imaging?

Hey all. Interested in picking up this 16gb of RAM model of the Mele Quieter 4C for use with sharpcap pro on planetary imaging and live stacking. Has anyone had success in doing these actions with this mini pc? Want to ensure it’s powerful enough to handle both; especially planetary. The link is bel...

Is Smart Histogram Scope, Camera or both Scope & Camera Dependent?

Hi all. Sorry in advance if this is a foolish question. I’m about to take my first attempt next week at Deep Sky Imaging. To say I’m a Newbie at this would be an understatement. With that in mind the Smart Histogram seems like a golden tool for me to determine optimum exposure time on my new rig. Ne...

Re: How Do I (or can I?) change the default stacking time for Smart HIstogram

Hi, yes, there's a 'Total stacking time' dropdown where you can choose a selection of lengths like 30min and 2hr and so on. However, that won't actually change the recommended exposure/gain settings - all it will do is alter the number of frames that are going to be captured and change the graph th...

How Do I (or can I?) change the default stacking time for Smart HIstogram

Hi! Wondering if its possible to change the default parameter of 1 hour stacking time for the smart histogram. I am new to EAA and really want to use this tool however I am unsure if this default setting of 1 hour stack time will impact the image negatively if I stack for only 20-30 minutes on an im...

Re: Collimation Aid for SCT's

It already has it ... sort of :) I always use the Circle Reticule for that. There is no active indication of how good or bad the collimation is, but you can adjust the circles radius (drag with right mouse button pressed) to divide it fitting the de-focused star. See this screenshot. The red lines ...

FPS & Refresh Rate Requirements

Hey would anybody know if using a Remote Desktop method to the mini PC that yields 60fps and 60Hz be sufficient for using sharpcap? I’m sure it’s fine for EAA (maybe not for focusing?) as the exposures are usually 10fps or higher but curious if this is insufficient for Planetary. Any insight would b...

Collimation Aid for SCT's

Hey Robin, Just a thought - How about some type of collimation aid / tool for SCT's? Something similar to Metaguide or perhaps even far simpler like ability to display size adjustable rings on a defocused star to help determine center and if collimation is off? I already pay for the pro version of s...
