Re: Capture failures last night
Thanks Robin! Reconnecting the camera did not resolve the issue the other night. I tried reconnecting all hardware as well. I will look at the Turbo USB setting. FWIW I am using an excellent USB cable, and have not previously seen dropped frames, even with SER files at 200+FPS.

Capture failures last night
Hi All- I posted this earlier in the "How do I" forum, and realized it should probably go here. I was capturing data last night, and twice in the evening I noticed that the frames had stopped updating and were shown as dropped. The green exposure progress bar continued to update as usual, ...

Capture failures last night
Hi All, I was capturing data last night, and twice in the evening I noticed that the frames had stopped updating and were shown as dropped. The green exposure progress bar continued to update as usual, but the preview image never changed. Reconnecting to the camera did not resolve the issue, and I h...

Re: Histogram window update becomes very slow in log mode
Robin- updating the graphics driver cured it! I should have tried that first, but I'm always concerned about fixing something that ain't broken...

Re: Histogram window update becomes very slow in log mode
Thanks Robin! I forgot to mention that I tried it with and without GPU acceleration, and it made no difference. I'll look around for another driver. I'd really like to use the ACER because it's very light, USB-C powered, and has an OLED display and backlit keyboard. The histogram issue isn't a deal ...

Histogram window update becomes very slow in log mode
Hi Folks I encountered an issue today where the histogram window contents update very slowly with logarithmic checked. The histogram window is responsive without logarithmic checked, but any operations such as scrolling in horizontal zoom mode or moving/resizing the window slow down dramatically wit...

Re: Planetary with ALT/AZ Evolution mount control
Hi Kaymann- sorry about the late reply to your answer. Can you tell me what ASCOM driver you are referring to?

Re: Planetary with ALT/AZ Evolution mount control
Thanks Robin! So if I understand correctly, I don't need to run CPWI- I just need to install it to get the ASCOM drivers on the PC. Is that correct?

Re: Planetary with ALT/AZ Evolution mount control
Thanks Robin! With my current workflow I do a single object solar system align from the hand controller (sometimes with ASIAIR connected via USB to the HC), and I use FireCapture's center and COG functions to keep the planet and ROI on the sensor until drift requires HC manual slew tweaks. I've neve...

Planetary with ALT/AZ Evolution mount control
Hi All- I'm a planetary imager currently capturing with FireCapture on a MacBook. I would like to give SharpCap a go, based on the enthusiastic reports by Mike Owen. My mount is a Celestron Evolution, with a C8 OTA in straight ALT/AZ mode. Planetary stabilization with mount control would be a big pl...
